ColourPop Spring 2015 Collection

Thank you note!

When I first heard about ColourPop last Summer I knew that I had to place an order. And I did. It was quite a nice haul, but due to some personal issues those beauties never made it to the blog. No worries. I plan on adding them now that things are running more smoothly. Anyway, it was love at first sight. I received my package fairly quickly. Opening the box was definitely an experience. I especially loved the personalized thank you note. Those are always a nice touch! To say that I was in love with my purchase would be an understatement. Seriously, of ALL the shadows in my collection my ColourPop shadows are the ones I reach for the most. They’re so creamy… buttery! I swear I almost always apply one of them to my lower lash line at least! It really adds a nice pop of color! See what I did there?

When I heard of their Spring 2015 Collection I quickly made my list. I really really REALLY wanted everything, but I had to pace myself. So I got the things I felt I couldn’t live without.

Tootsi Lip Pencil, Tootsi Lippie Stix

Swatches (Left to Right): Tootsi Lip Pencil, Tootsi Lippie Stix, Rain

Tootsi Lip Pencil and Tootsi Lippie Stix are described as a cool-toned grey beige in a matte finish. Both applied perfectly and felt very comfortable. I’ll definitely be picking up backups of these.

Rain is described as a mid-tone lavender in a matte finish. I don’t own many lavender blushes so this was a must have. I applied this with my fingers and lightly blended it out with my buffer brush. It’s nicely pigmented and applied exactly like it swatched. I used to shy away from cream blushes and am now regretting that. Obviously I’ve been missing out. I totally need more of these in my life!

Beauty Call

In A Pickle

Snap Dragon

Swatches (Left to Right): Beauty Call, Cowboy, Daddy, Flux

Swatches (Left to Right): Hello, In A Pickle, Snap Dragon, Taco

Beauty Call is described as a true powder blue in a matte finish, Cowboy is a true pastel lavender in a matte finish, Daddy is a cool-toned vibrant violet in a matte pressed pigment, Flux is a light mint green in a matte finish, Hello is a soft pastel yellow in a matte finish, In A Pickle is a pastel coral pink in a matte finish, Snap Dragon is a mid-tone sea foam green in a matte finish, and last, but certainly not least, Taco is a mid-tone aqua in a matte finish.

It’s nice to add a few matte shadows to my growing ColourPop collection. My first purchase was a bit of a glitter-fest. Not that I’m complaining. I just like a bit of variety. My favorite would have to be Snap Dragon. It’s such a beautiful color! But they’re definitely all winners in my book! As for application, I usually use my MAC 252 brush. I don’t really like using my fingers for these shadows even though the website states that is the best way to apply them. I prefer my method and haven’t had any issues yet.

You can see a look I created with some of these products below. I’m wearing Tootsi Lip Pencil and Tootsi Lippie Stix on my lips, Rain on my cheeks, Cowboy on my lid, Daddy in my crease (I added a different shadow in my outer crease to darken it a bit), Hello on the inner corner of my eye, Snap Dragon on my lower lash line, and a different shadow on my brow bone. The other shadows I used are bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow 4.0 in The True Romantic (Head Over Heels, Love It).

This was quite a nice haul. I love everything! And with free shipping over $30.00, $5.00 for all eye shadows and lip products, and just $8.00 for cheek products, how can you pass that up? You can’t! And you shouldn’t!

Swatches: Chanel Jardin De Chanel Blush Camelia Rose

Would you believe me if I told you that this is my first Chanel piece? There haven’t been many Chanel products that have caught my eye, but this one definitely did. I just had to make this my first Chanel beauty purchase.

Besides the beautiful camellias, one of the first things I noticed was that it smells like roses. And I absolutely love anything rose scented! I find myself opening this blush randomly and sniffing it. I don’t care how weird that sounds. It smells pretty! Anyway, when I first went to go swirl my blush brush around I saw powder scatter about and I had a mini heart attack. No worries. The beautiful camellias are still intact. I guess I’m not entirely out of that ‘I don’t want to break my pretties in’ stage yet. The struggle is real, I tell ya! So I picked up the product and blew off any excess and all was right in the world. It applied beautifully and left a long lasting pinkish glow on my cheeks. You can see it in action below.

Overall I’d have to say that it’s a gorgeous blush! It’ll make a great addition to my Spring time routine. It’s much smaller than I expected it to be, but that seems to be the norm with these higher end products. I don’t regret my purchase at all though. A little luxury is nice once in a while.

MAC Bao Bao Wan Collection

MAC Bao Bao Wan Collection

MAC Bao Bao Wan Forbidden Sunrise Lipstick

MAC Bao Bao Wan Lavender Jade Lipstick

Swatches: Forbidden Sunrise, Lavender Jade

When I saw the Bao Bao Wan Collection pop up on the MAC website weeks before its official launch, I figured it would go live earlier than expected. So I did what any hardcore makeup lover would do. I stalked. Every day. For WEEKS! It didn’t launch early. And had I not been told by the woman dressed in all white standing in an all white room showing me how to make Chanel blush to wake up at that very moment, I would have missed out. Everyone has these kinds of dreams, right? RIGHT?

Crazy blush making dream aside, all I wanted were these 2 lipsticks. I find that it gets harder and harder to stand my ground and not buy entire collections just because it’s shiny, new, and pretty as hell! But I really didn’t need the eyeshadow palette or that gorgeous beauty powder. These lipsticks were must haves though.

Forbidden Sunrise is a matte and described as creamy orange. Lavender Jade is also a matte and described as dirty mauve with gold pearl. Lavender Jade is my favorite of the 2, but Forbidden Sunrise is a rather unique shade in my ever growing collection. I found both of these lipsticks to be very creamy and extremely comfortable. I only had to touch up once throughout the day which was nice. You can see both of these beauties in action below.

Were you able to get anything from the MAC Bao Bao Wan Collection? What did you get? What are your thoughts?
