Swatches: 100 – Light Iridescent, 200 – Medium-Nude Glow, 10 – Light, 15 – Medium

Today I will be reviewing this box full of goodies from Maybelline! I’m still testing out the Facestudio Master Prime in 200 – Blur + Illuminate. I’m not sure how I feel about it just yet, but I will definitely report back on it after I’ve fully tested it out.

First up is the Facestudio Master Contour V-Shape Duo Sticks. Talk about a mouthful, huh? These nifty contour sticks come in 3 shades. 10 – Light, 15 – Medium, and 20 – Deep. On one side you’ve got contour and on the other side you’ve got highlight. It’s a great concept and I can definitely see these sticks coming in handy for travel, but not so much for every day use. If you apply it straight from the tube it’s almost impossible to apply just one side. The two sides eventually mix together. You might be able to get away with a little highlight being mixed with your contour, but you definitely don’t want that contour being mixed with your highlight.

Application issues aside, the product was really nice. They’re really pigmented and have a nice creamy texture. I used my BeautyBlender to blend it out and it blended beautifully! I used the light shade which made for a really nice subtle contour. It can easily be built up for a more sculpted look, but that’s not what I was going for.

Next up is the Facestudio Master Strobing Stick Illuminating Highlighter. It comes in 2 shades. 100 – Light Iridescent and 200 – Medium-Nude Glow. These highlighting sticks are also very pigmented and even creamier than the contour sticks. These glided onto my arm effortlessly! I decided to apply these with my fingers because I was afraid of going overboard. I just rubbed my finger across the top and then pat the product onto my cheekbone. I used the Light Iridescent shade and built it up quite a bit so that it would show in the photo. Seriously, look at that glow! I really love these Strobing Sticks and wish there were more shades available. Cause I would buy the heck out of them!

You can see the Facestudio Master Contour V-Shape Duo Stick and the Facestudio Master Strobing Stick Illuminating Highlighter in action below!

Overall I think the products are pretty great. If you do a lot of traveling the Facestudio Master Contour V-Shape Duo Sticks might be more convenient than packing up a palette. Just be careful when applying straight from the tube. And if you really want to glow, check out the Facestudio Master Strobing Stick Illuminating Highlighter in Light Iridescent. It’s beautiful!

Don’t forget to enter my giveaway for a chance to win the Derma E Purifying Collection! It’s a pretty great skin care line!

Swatches: Urban Decay Perversion Mascara, SEPHORA COLLECTION Contour Eye Pencil 12hr Wear Waterproof, MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Shadow Eyeshadow and Powder Blush

My Play! box arrived pretty late this month. But at least this box is better than the last one!

I really love me some Lancôme so I get pretty excited when I get samples from them. I used the Lancôme Énergie de Vie The Smoothing & Glow Boosting Liquid Moisturizer right away. It’s an energizing antioxidant liquid moisturizer that refreshes, protects, and hydrates tired skin for an instant dewy glow. I don’t feel like it gave me much of a glow, but it did leave my skin feeling silky smooth! There is fragrance in it, but it’s not strong or bothersome at all. I’m not sure how I feel about it just yet. I’d have to use it some more. But the sample I received is very small and since it’s very liquidy I feel like I have to use more of it. I might get 2 more uses out of it.

I’m not sure if it’s because of my upcoming birthday or what. But I’m convinced my eyes have aged drastically over night. I swear I went to bed one night looking halfway decent and woke up looking wrinkled. Or maybe I just need more rest? Either way I’m in desperate need of more eye cream. And the Algenist Complete Eye Renewal Balm sounds like a nice addition to my collection of eye creams that obviously don’t work. I kid. I kid. But I really can’t wait to try this one out!

Next up is the MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Shadow Eyeshadow and Powder Blush in I544 which is described as an iridescent pink granite. I swatched it both wet and dry. It had a really nice buttery soft texture and is nicely pigmented. It’s a gorgeous shade and I’ll definitely get use out of it.

I usually don’t care much for eyeliners being added to my boxes, but the SEPHORA COLLECTION Contour Eye Pencil 12hr Wear Waterproof is a really nice pencil. I received the shade 33 Love Affair which is a plum shade. It’s really pretty and will make for a nice Fall look.

The Urban Decay Perversion Mascara looks like it’ll get some use. I’ll use it this week along with the other products in this box. I’ve been getting a lot of use out of the Smashbox mascara that I received in my July Birchbox. It’ll be nice to change things up a bit and try something new.

I was really excited to try out the CLEAN Reserve Warm Cotton because it seemed like it would be a nice light, fresh, clean scent. I guess by clean they mean cleaning product? Because that’s exactly what it smells like!

Aside from the perfume, everything in this box will get some use. Overall I’d have to say that it’s a pretty great box!

Derma E Purifying Collection

Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask, Purifying Daily Detox Scrub, Purifying Gel Cleanser, Purifying Youth Serum

I’ve been doing a lot of experimenting with skin care these days. It can sometimes be stressful especially for someone with such sensitive skin. I admit that sometimes I’m scared to try new skin care products. What can I say? I’ve been hurt before. But man is it awesome when you find new products that end up working out for you! I love being able to add new products to my skin care routine!

I wasn’t too worried about trying new products from Derma E. I think their more natural approach helped me to really ease into the brand and their products. But I still took my time to use each item that was sent to me to see how I got along with them. Let’s dig into this box of goodies to find out what worked and what didn’t work!

Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask
The Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask is my favorite product of the bunch. It’s a thick, creamy, dark blue(ish) mask that didn’t have much of a scent. It dries down to a lighter blue color within 4-5 minutes. Then you dampen your hands and gently massage your face to activate the exfoliants. It did leave my skin feeling a little tight, but not much. Afterward my skin felt incredibly soft! It was so refreshing!

Purifying Daily Detox Scrub
The Purifying Daily Detox Scrub is a really nice exfoliator. Texture wise it reminds me of the 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask, but it’s much lighter and airy. This also didn’t have much of a scent. It was gentle enough on my sensitive skin. Exfoliating always leaves my skin a little red, but once it settled down my skin felt refreshed and appeared brighter.

Purifying Gel Cleanser
The Purifying Gel Cleanser is a thin, black gel. It’s a little liquidy, but doesn’t run and make a mess. It’s also fragrance free so it doesn’t smell like much of anything. It lathered up really nice and did a great job at washing off my makeup. It didn’t leave my skin feeling tight or dry. I was surprised at how gentle this was on my sensitive skin. Afterward my skin felt very soft. This cleanser is for normal to oily skin, but didn’t negatively affect my oily/combo skin.

Purifying Toner Mist
The Purifying Toner Mist applied nicely straight from the bottle. But it had a bit of a funky scent and it left my skin feeling a bit tacky. I don’t think the toner got along with my sensitive skin much as it left my cheeks pretty red for about an hour or two. However, it didn’t cause any breakouts or anything like that.

Purifying Youth Serum
The Purifying Youth Serum is thin and silky. I did detect a bit of a scent, but it wasn’t bothersome. It’s lightweight and absorbs quickly. A little goes a long way! It’s supposed to shield your skin from environmental and age damage. The only differences I see is that my skin doesn’t look as dull. I definitely notice a bit of a glow these days.

Overall I’d have to say that the Derma E Purifying Collection is rather impressive. I love that the products don’t contain a ton of ingredients, but mostly I love that they are fragrance free. I’m not a big fan of fragrance in my skin care products. I do feel like my skin looks healthier and even a little radiant. I’m going to have to purchase the Purifying Oil-Free Moisturizer because I’d love to see how it works with the rest of the line.

Oh! And guess what? Derma E sent me some extras so that I could share with one of you! This giveaway is for one of each of the products mentioned above. That’s five products! This giveaway will run for two weeks and is open internationally. After a winner has been chosen you have one week to respond back or another winner will be chosen. Good luck!
