So I finally sat down and did a full face. I haven’t done more than a quick face since the move. Definitely nothing photo-worthy. But I’ve got lots of goodies to try out and photograph so I sat down and whipped out all of the new items. They took over my entire desk! So I’m going to have to spread these out over the next few weeks. Hopefully I can make my way through everything by next month.

First up is Rimmel London’s new Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour shades. There are 14 shades total. Rimmel claims bold matte lips in one swipe with up to 12 hours of kiss-proof, water-proof, and touch-proof wear. Here are my thoughts!

Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour

I like the packaging. It’s a swirly, triangle, frosted, matte tube. The applicator is a bit longer and flatter than other liquid lipsticks. But it still made for an easy application. Scent wise it smells a little like vanilla, but maybe a more chemical vanilla scent. I didn’t find it to be bothersome and it does go away after application. The texture is thick and kind of moussey. I feel like because of that it does take a while to fully dry down, but it does dry down. Once fully dry they do make for a comfortable wear. I’d say it was fairly lightweight. I didn’t experience any excessive drying and for the most part it was transferproof. Of course that depends on what you eat. I’d stay away from anything greasy. But that’s with any liquid lipstick. And you’re definitely going to want to prep those lips beforehand! Because these babies do not play nice with dry or chapped lips. Some liquid lipsticks are forgiving, but these definitely aren’t. I can’t say much about the 12 hour claim, but the shades I tried did last well throughout the day. Which for me is about 8 hours.

I really love the color selection. I love how they included a black, blue, and gray. However, these shades don’t really apply fully opaque. I found them to be muted and not as bold as they should have been. I think if someone opts for a beautiful bold like Shadow, they’re expecting a nice, rich, bold, gray shade. Not a watered down version of it. That being said I do still like Shadow. Obviously it’s so not my shade! But it was really fun to experiment with and it could be a nice introduction for someone wanting to try a fun, bold shade without breaking the bank.

Some of the darker shades like Midnight, Pitch Black, and Blue Iris do apply patchy. I tried my best to smooth them over, but it just wasn’t happening. Plum This Show can be worked with and is actually quite beautiful with a little extra work. I think the nudes are the real winners in this selection. With the exception of Latte To Go. This one applied very streaky and wouldn’t even out. It just made for a very bad look. My favorites are Fire Starter, Heartbeat, Pink Blink, Blush, Pink Bliss, Rose & Shine, and Be My Baby. I’m going to add Shadow to this list as well. Like I said, it’s definitely not my shade, but I’m still digging it.

Overall, I think it’s a really nice selection of shades. There’s definitely something for everyone. However, if you really have your heart set on the bolder shades, you might be disappointed. These lipsticks are Ulta.com exclusives and are $5.79 each. You can see a few shades in action below!

Swatches: Palm Island, Honey Dew, Peach Blush

I’m officially back! I’m so sorry! This move took longer than I excepted. I kept trying to make it over to my computer to at least respond to comments, but then I’d get sidetracked. I’m just one of those people who needs to have everything put away and neatly organized/clean or I won’t be able to focus on work. I’ll be thinking of those boxes stacked along the wall that need unpacking. I feel so much better now that everything is very neatly put away. Of course I now have a pile of work on my desk. And I’m sure that I’ve already run out of makeup storage. So it looks like I’ll need to make another trip to Ikea.

I’ll have to post all about the new place. I still have to get a few more organizers mainly for the kitchen and pantry. I also have to figure out how to effectively mount curtain rods to these walls. They don’t take to nails or screws as easily as I’d hoped. Even the screws with built in anchors. I’m tempted to just skip the curtains in the living room because the last thing I need is another stripped hole in the wall. I should probably just stick to blogging. Either way, I’ll try and get some photos up soon.

Now that I’ve got that out of the way, here is last month’s Ipsy Glam Bag. An Instagram friend had sent me a bag and I was so impressed with it that I decided to sign back up. Seriously, this one is a winner! The actual bag is super cute. I love the little ticket stub!

First up is Hey Honey Bésame Mucho. I guess it’s a lip balm that doubles as an overnight lip mask.

I was most excited about the OFRA Cosmetics Peach Blush. I’ve heard SO much about the brand and their products that I couldn’t wait to try something. Only I didn’t know where to start. This blush was a great introduction. This nifty blush can also be used as a highlighter or eyeshadow. It can also be applied wet. It swatched beautifully! It’s so soft and buttery! And the shade is just gorgeous! I can’t wait to try it!

The Hanalei Aloe Soothing Gel sounds like it’ll come in handy. Ipsy says that aloe is naturally regenerative so it will help balance out any redness or uneven skin tone. It also claims that the gel texture makes for a killer makeup primer.

I don’t think I’ve tried much from Ciaté London. So I was also excited to see the Ciaté London Mini Bamboo Bronzer in Palm Island included in my bag. The packaging is really cute and the bronzer itself is really pretty and nicely pigmented.

The Hikari Cosmetics Cream Pigment Eyeshadow in Honey Dew is gorgeous! It’s so creamy! This gorgeous eyeshadow can also be used as a highlighter. And it sure does look like it would make for a beautiful highlighter!

Overall, I’m very impressed with this bag. I’m happy with everything I received and I seriously can’t wait to try out each and every item.

Swatches: Kitty Kat, Forever Young, Daydream, Forever Lit, Glo Getter, 143

At this point I’ve got a pretty decent highlighter collection. I really didn’t need another highlighter palette. Except that I did. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit was just too darn pretty to pass up!

The packaging is just your typical cardboard packaging, but it’s a really pretty sparkly pink! I love it! The kit includes 6 highlighters in the shades Kitty Kat which is a pink with platinum shimmer, Forever Young which is a pink pearl with silver shimmer, Daydream which is a coral with white gold shimmer, Forever Lit which is a platinum with lavender shimmer, Glo Getter which is a champagne with rose shimmer, and 143 which is a rose gold with bronze shimmer.

I found them all to be very pigmented. I did swatch them wet so that they’d pop more for the photos, but even when applied dry they’re still very pigmented. If you’re looking for a more natural highlight, this kit isn’t for you. This baby is going to give you some serious glow! I did get a bit of glitter everywhere when I applied some of the shades, but it wasn’t that big of a deal to me. I just figured I’d mention it because I know that some might find that to be bothersome.

I really love this Glow Kit and I’ve been using it ever since I purchased it. You can see it in action below. I used Kitty Kat to highlight my cheeks and used Forever Lit on the inner corner of my eyes, nose, and cupid’s bow.
