Swatches: Bordeaux, Cape Town, Tuscany

I’ve got so many posts lined up. So many new to me brands and products that I can’t wait to blog about. For the first time in a long time I’m actually very excited. And speaking of a new to me brand, this is my first time experimenting with OFRA Cosmetics! I’ve actually been dying to try their liquid lipsticks. I’ve heard so many great things. The Vintage Vineyard Lip Set was a great place to start.

The Vintage Vineyard Lip Set contains 3 of OFRA’S Long Lasting Liquid Lipsticks in the shades Bordeaux which is a blackberry purple, Cape Town which is a light plum, and Tuscany which is a muted mauve-red. All 3 shades are matte. They have a light vanilla scent which I thought was nice. They applied beautifully and evenly. With the exception of Bordeaux. Because it was darker I found it was a little tricky to work with. It does eventually even out, but you really have to work at it. This was the only shade I didn’t get a photo of. That’s because I just didn’t like the way it looked on me. I’ll definitely keep working at it, but right now I just find it to be a little too vampy for my liking. Cape Town and Tuscany are total winners though. I have so many similar shades in my collection, but I’ll probably reach for these more. I found them to be very comfortable. You can see Cape Town and Tuscany in action below.

I also went ahead and did another look using my LuLu Face Company Custom Palette. Looking back on the review I wasn’t too happy with the look I created and felt I could do better. I guess the same could be said for most of my older looks. So expect to see a lot of do-overs this year. I’m much happier with this look though. I just really wanted to try and do that palette justice because I like it so much. Aside from the shadows and pressed cake eyeliner (which I applied on my lid this time) I’m also wearing the Mineral Blush in Fresh Rose on my cheeks and the Silky Pressed Mineral Shadow in Chablis as my highlight. I still say it makes for a gorgeous highlight!

LuLu Face Company Custom Palettes

I think both of these lipsticks compliment the palette beautifully. The moment I saw them I knew I had to pair them with this palette. Overall, I’d have to say that they are great lipsticks. They’re very comfortable and fairly long lasting. They have definitely put OFRA on my radar.

*I received these products complimentary. I was not paid or compensated in any way to write this review. All opinions are completely my own.

Swatches: Berry Chic, Rose Berry, Berry Pop, Mixed Berries, Berry Black

This is my very first Dose Of Colors purchase. Many of their products have caught my eye in the past, but never enough to make me place an order. One day while walking through Ulta I saw the Blushing Berries Palette on display and grabbed the only palette they had left in stock. I didn’t have time to swatch it in person. I just kind of grabbed it and hoped for the best. I remember seeing lots of beautiful looks created with it so I had very high hopes. Did it live up to my expectations? Let’s find out!

Dose Of Colors Blushing Berries Palette

I’m really digging the pretty red packaging. It comes with a brush that is surprisingly soft. It’s a little on the small side so I use it for my lower lash line. I don’t usually use the brushes that come with palettes, but this one was really nice. Too nice to let it go unused. The shadows are gorgeous! I love the shade selection! That’s what really caught my eye. They all compliment each other beautifully. They’re all very nicely pigmented and blended beautifully! As much as I love me some berry shades they can be tricky to work with. Surprisingly these were some of the easiest berry shades that I’ve worked with. You can see a look I created with the Blushing Berries Palette below.

Overall, I’d have to say that I love this palette. The shades are so up my alley. I’m tempted to go back and grab the other palettes. The Marvelous Mauves and Sassy Siennas are kind of calling my name too.

Have you tried anything from Dose Of Colors? I’m really digging the fact that you can now find their products at Ulta. Even though I hate going there lately. But that’s a story for another time.

Swatches: Bam, Glam, Wham

I’m still making my way through my Holiday Haul products. I’m just about done. Then maybe I can finally share some of the newer stuff I have piled up on my desk.

This is the ColourPop NKLA X Laura Lee Bundle. It’s a collaboration with ColourPop and Laura Lee. All net profits from the purchase of any ColourPop X Laura Lee product go towards Best Friends Animal Society. A leading national animal welfare organization dedicated to ending the killing of dogs and cats in America’s shelters. The collaboration consists of a Super Shock Shadow Foursome and a Lip Bundle. I bought the Lip Bundle which includes 3 lip products.

  • Bam – Red Berry (Ultra Satin Lip)
  • Glam – True Rose Gold (Ultra Metallic Lip)
  • Wham – Champagne Nude Metallic With Silver Glitter (Ultra Glossy Lip)

Bam was a little messy to apply and can sometimes look a tad patchy. Once you even everything out it’s a really gorgeous shade. It was fairly comfortable and long lasting.

Glam was my favorite of the trio. Y’all already know that I’m a sucker for rose gold. Aside from the pretty rose gold shade this lipstick applied beautifully and made for a comfortable wear. The formula was nice and creamy. Almost mousse like. I’m really digging their metallics.

Wham is the second Ultra Glossy Lip I have tried. It’s very different from the first one. This one contained chunks of glitter and felt a little gritty, but not overly so. I definitely noticed the texture however, I wouldn’t say it was bothersome. It did look metallic. At first I wasn’t sure how I felt about it. After seeing it in photos I decided that I really did like it. It wasn’t super sticky and was fairly comfortable.

Overall, I’d have to say that this was a really pretty trio. All of the shades are very wearable including the metallic. This is definitely one of their more glamorous looking collections. I’m glad that I picked it up when I had the chance. Unfortunately this Lip Bundle is currently sold out, but it looks like the Super Shock Shadow Foursome is still available.

A little side note: I’m suddenly very aware of how I can’t seem to snap a face swatch photo without my hand by my neck. I looked back on my photos and notice that this wasn’t always the case. It seems to be a new thing since the move. I admit that it’s been tricky getting into a rhythm in the new place. My setup is very different. It’s much better, but I have to remember my best angles and such. Maybe bear with me while I work my way through this very awkward phase? Haha!
