Bad Habit After Hours Palette

Swatches: Lustful, Flushed, Wine Stain, Eye Contact, Cabernet

The newest Bad Habit Palettes are dupes for the Huda Beauty Obsessions Eyeshadow Palettes. There’s actually a really great deal on the Shop Hush app where you can purchase all 4 palettes for just $30.00! It truly is an amazing deal, but the only one I had my eye on was the After Hours Palette. I’m a sucker for mauves.

The Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette is only about $17.00 more and I’m sure it’s worth every cent. However, I had points burning a hole in my pocket so the moment the After Hours Palette was restocked I placed my order. Making this baby free! How could I resist?

The Bad Habit After Hours Palette contains 9 eyeshadows. Featuring 6 smooth, pigmented mattes and 3 buttery shimmers. It’s a really nice sized palette. Like the other Bad Habit palettes I’ve purchased the shadows are housed in a sturdy cardboard package that includes a mirror. The first thing I noticed was a bit of a chemical scent. I don’t remember any of the others smelling like this. It was pretty strong when I first opened it. After a few uses I barely notice it anymore. Just figured I’d mention it.

The shadows are exactly what I’ve come to expect from Bad Habit. They’re surprisingly pigmented. The shimmers truly are buttery. I didn’t experience as much fallout with these shimmers. They all applied and blended beautifully. Even the mattes. I love how their palettes always contain a brow bone shade so that you can easily create a full look using only one palette.

You can see a look I created with the Bad Habit After Hours Palette below. I used Clutch on my lid, Flushed and Cabernet in my crease, Powder Room on my brow bone, and Hickey on my lower lash line.

Bad Habit After Hours Palette

Overall, I’d have to say that this is a really great palette. While I went a tad bold with my look, you could just as easily tone it down a bit and create a neutral look with or without a pop of color. I’m really tempted to buy the other 3 palettes, but I really don’t need them. I already have so many similar shades. But their palettes are usually nicely done and very hard to resist.

Have you tried anything from Bad Habit yet?

Top Five: It Cosmetics

top five

A few weeks back I watched agapelovegirl’s video on her Top 10 Favorite It Cosmetics Products. I thought it seemed like a fun idea so I put together my very own top list.

After the massive Spring cleaning I did around here I have decided to put myself on a bit of a no-buy. That’s not to say if something pretty and shiny catches my eye I won’t cave and buy it. Because you know I will. But I really want to try and show the many products I currently own a bit more love. I was trying to think of some ideas on how to keep things interesting other than sharing my empties and shopping my stash. So I’ll be adding a few other top lists from some of my other favorite brands.

I wanted to keep this short and sweet so I decided to do a Top Five instead. When you’re talking about something you can run through 10 products pretty quickly. But 10 products including photos on a blog would be a scroll-fest and I can’t do that to y’all. So here are my Top Five It Cosmetics products!

It Cosmetics Je Ne Sais Quoi Lip Treatment

1. Je Ne Sais Quoi Lip Treatment $24.00
My absolute favorite product from It Cosmetics has to be the Je Ne Sais Quoi Lip Treatment. I first tried it when it was sent to me back in October 2016. It lasted a whole year! I was sent another last year in a different shade and that one lasted a year. This year I went and purchased one myself. It comes in 2 shades. Your Perfect Pink and Rose. This is seriously the only lip balm I use now. When I apply it at night before bed it’s still there come morning. It’s crazy how long it lasts. It feels incredibly lightweight and doesn’t contain a strong scent. It always leaves my lips feeling silky smooth. It’s a bit pricey for a lip treatment, but considering how long it lasts and just how great it works, I’d have to say it’s money well spent.

It Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush #7
It Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush #7

2. Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush #7 $48.00
My most used brush! This dual ended brush contains a larger brush for foundation or powder products and a smaller brush for precision application in smaller areas. It is said to offer an airbrushed finish. I use larger brush to set my foundation. I use the smaller brush for concealer. It’s super soft and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. It’s one of the only brushes I can use all over my face without causing more redness and irritation.

It Cosmetics Confidence In Your Glow

3. Confidence In Your Glow $32.00
I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited than I was the day these beauties landed on my doorstep. These trios are the prettiest ever! It’s a blush, bronzer, and highlighter all in one. It comes in 3 shades. Instant Natural Glow, Instant Nude Glow, and Instant Warm Glow. I usually swirl all 3 together for a gorgeous shade with a pretty natural looking glow. They’re also perfect for travel. No need to pack up 3 products when just one of these palettes will do.

It Cosmetics Confidence in an Eye Cream

4. Confidence in an Eye Cream $38.00
This is easily one of my favorite eye creams. It’s rich and creamy and instantly wakes up my tired looking eyes. It’s incredibly moisturizing and really gets the job done. It also plays nice with my sensitive skin. I used to have some issues with dryness around my eye area, but since using this the dry patches have disappeared.

It Cosmetics Fall 2017 Must-Haves

5. Confidence In A Cleanser $28.00
This is a really nice cleanser. It removes my makeup without leaving my skin red and irritated. It also has a nice refreshing citrus scent. I love how my skin looks and feels after each use. I have quite a few cleansers that I use in rotation and this is one of my go-tos.

*I received some of these products complimentary. I was not paid or compensated in any way to write this review. All opinions are completely my own.

Another week another beautiful Jouer product! When I placed my most recent Beautylish order I went a little crazy on the Jouer products. So don’t go thinking this is the end of it. Because there’s lots more to come!

I’ve never tried any of Jouer’s Lip Toppers and I wasn’t even sure it would be something I’d like. But when I saw the promo photos for the Jouer Lip Topper in Sweetheart I figured this would be the perfect time to try one.

Jouer Lip Topper in Sweetheart

Sweetheart is a shimmering true red with pink and gold flecks. The packaging is just as pretty and sparkly as the Lip Topper. I seriously couldn’t stop staring at the product inside the tube. It was so much fun photographing it too. I’m so happy that I was able to capture all of that shimmer!

Jouer Lip Topper in Sweetheart

Right away I noticed the sweet smell of vanilla. It’s described as a sheer, shimmering Lip Topper. However, with just one swipe I was left with the perfect shimmery red lip. You can wear the Lip Toppers layered on top of your favorite lipstick or on its own. I always wear this alone. In the photo below I’m wearing just Sweetheart on my lips. It’s not exactly opaque, but it’s also nowhere near as sheer as I was expecting. That’s a good thing. For me anyway. It applied beautifully. It felt more like a lipgloss, but much lighter. It didn’t feel sticky or heavy. And it surprisingly lasts a long time! It does transfer when you’re eating and drinking, but it leaves behind a bit of a stain. Believe it or not this was still going strong at the end of the day. I also found it to be moisturizing. My lips never felt dry even after removal.

You can see the Jouer Lip Topper in Sweetheart below.

Jouer Lip Topper in Sweetheart

Overall, I have to say that this Lip Topper is beautiful. I didn’t think I would love it as much as I do. I keep it on my vanity and whenever I need a little pop of color I just reach for Sweetheart and my look is complete.

Have you tried any of Jouer’s Lip Toppers? What do you think of them?
