Swatches (Dampened): Hard Candy, Mimosa, Starburst, Crushed Pearl

This is my very first Anastasia Beverly Hills order! I do own a few of the ABH brow products that I purchased from Sephora, but I’ve never ordered directly from the company before. So this is pretty exciting. I ended up ordering this gorgeous Glow Kit and a liquid lipstick (don’t look so surprised lol) which I’ll be reviewing later on.

Before I get started I’d like to mention how impressed I am with the speedy shipping. I received my order 2 days after placing it! When you order something new and exciting it’s pretty great to be able to hold it in your hands so soon after ordering.

This Glow Kit is gorgeous! It contains 4 metallic powder highlighters – Hard Candy, Mimosa, Starburst, and Crushed Pearl. They can be used on your face, eyes, and body. The website states that if you apply these with a dampened makeup brush you can achieve more glow. I posted both dry and dampened swatches so that you can see for yourself. These really do come to life when dampened. They’re gorgeous as is, but it really does pop more when dampened.

These highlighters were incredibly soft. They swatched beautifully! Unfortunately, I don’t have a face swatch to share with you just yet. I did use this Glow Kit in a look last week and loved it, but I wasn’t too crazy about the photos. While I was working on the new theme I made the mistake of looking back on some of my older posts. Let’s just say that the very last thing this blog needs is another awful selfie. Yikes! I promise to get one up soon though!

  2. What a beautiful palette! I don’t wear highlighter on a daily basis, but when I do, I look for powders with this kind of glow. Have you tried any of the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks? They were my first highlighters and still some of my favorites if I want some color (for a more neutral light beige highlighter I go for the Balm Mary-Lou Manizer).

    • I don’t either, but I’ve been experimenting more and really liking it in my photos. I feel like it brings them to life.

I’m so ashamed to admit that I did own a Shimmer Brick a while back. But I had no clue what to do with it so I ended up selling/giving it away. Of course I want it back now lol.

  3. This looks gorgeous!

I ordered from the ABH website last May/June time and they never shipped my order – they emailed first to say it would be shipped soon and then 6 weeks later that they cancelled the order – no explanation at all! I was truly disappointed & I emailed them several times over the period & they never replied. For that reason, I won’t order from them again & will only use Cult Beauty! :-( xx

    • Thank you! :)

Oh no! That’s horrible. I’m so sorry that you had a bad experience. I’ve had something similar happen with another company so I get the frustration. :(

  4. These highlighters look gorgeous. I just love the warmth of Starburst. I look forward to seeing your review for that lipstick, as well!

  8. I have been wearing highlighters almost everyday because I love the glow especially in winter time. This palette looks so pretty but the one I am drying to get my hands on is Physician Formula Shimmer Bricks.

  10. Your selfies look great, you hush. ;P I’ve seen swatches of this palette before and it’s so gorgeous, I’m so jealous! Starburst is just lovely. Can’t wait to see what they look like on you!
