BH Cosmetics Missy Lynn Palette

Purchased By Me
I believe this is my first BH Cosmetics purchase. And I feel weird admitting that I don’t even know who Missy Lynn is, but I was drawn to this palette and had to make it mine. I got lucky when I fist saw it because it was listed at just $8.00! That’s an amazing deal! It contains 6 eyeshadows and 2 highlighting powders. I think that beautiful purple shade is what got me. But I have to admit it wasn’t exactly what I was expecting. Although it is still a beautiful shade. The shadows are soft and surprisingly nicely pigmented. Most of those swatches are just one swipe!
I really can’t wait to experiment with this beauty, but it’s going to have to wait. As I’ve mentioned before my face is still healing from an over-exfoliating mishap. To make a very long story short my cheeks have been irritated and sort of inflamed for MONTHS now! I assumed it was a freak breakout that just wasn’t healing hence the wishlist with all of the skin care products. I blamed everything for this freak ‘breakout’ and through process of elimination learned that it was my Clarisonic. Now before anyone jumps all over me, I’m not saying the Clarisonic is evil. Yes I switch the brush head often and I never apply pressure. I guess my skin just doesn’t like it much. Because a few days after I discontinued use the redness started to go down. My cheeks are still a tad red on some days, but they’re no longer inflamed and puffy. Right now I’m just allowing my face to breathe and babying the heck out of it. A gentle wash in the morning and lots of moisturizing is about all I’m doing. I hear it can take weeks to sometimes months for full recovery. I kind of set my healing process back with my last few posts (which I did a while back).
Anyway, I’m sorry to post just swatches. I really hate doing that. I prefer to see products in action. But I’d rather not irritate my face and I wasn’t trying to just neglect my blog. Forgive me? :)
I was just starting at this Miss Lynn palette on Hautelook but decided against it because I have way too much and am trying to be good. LOL! I have heard and read about Clarisonic causing irritation and breakouts, not everybody get along well it. I have been using Olay Pro-X since 2012 and I swear it’s one of the reason why my skin is really good.

I know I’ve been going through my stash all week to declutter and here I am buying even more!
I’ll have to check out the Olay Pro-X. I could have sworn the Clarisonic was doing wonders for my skin in the beginning. But slowly I started to notice changes and before I knew it my cheeks were always so raw and sensitive. I never breakout anymore aside from the random chin or nose pimple I get once a month. But never my cheeks! It’s been horrible. :(
Wow, what a bargain! $8?! Beautiful shades in here! xx

$8 really is a bargain! :)
Forgiven. I stopped using my Clarisonic earlier this year for similar reasons, it just didn’t agree with me any more.

Why thank you! Did it take your skin this long to heal fully? I feel like it’s taking forever! I did set it back by wearing makeup and having to wipe it off my face causing more irritation. Then I went and exfoliated with a scrub because my skin felt dry. It was probably trying to heal and then I went and made it worse. :(
I love when companies mix browns and purples .. my two favorite shades into ONE palette :-)

Don’t they compliment each other beautifully? And so perfect for Fall! :)
BH Cosmetics has some great surprises. I have heard similar things about the Clarisonic. Some peoples skin just doesn’t like it. I am glad you were able to figure out what was messing with your skin. :)

Yes I guess they do! I’ll have to keep an eye out now. And the Clarisonic thing was driving me mad for a while there. I was ready to toss everything! Glad I found out now before it caused any further damage.
Oh wow, that’s horrendous. D= I can’t believe it had such a bad effect on your skin! At least you found out the irritant, brr… Hope you heal nicely and soon!
As for the palette itself, super pretty! The shades look a touch chalky though, to be honest. How are they over primer? I can see you making some gorgeous Autumn looks with the golds and purples. =)
My skin is doing much better now thanks! Boy was that a long healing process.
A few of the shades are a little powdery, but it’s not so bad. It applied nicely and I didn’t experience much fallout either. You can see a look I created on the Black Moon Cosmetics post. I’m really happy with this one.
