It took me a while to get my hands on this beauty! It was out of stock every time I went to purchase it. Thankfully I was finally able to get my hands on it. You know… because I need yet another mauve lipstick in my collection.

Dopey is described as a dusty mauve. Even the description sounds pretty! Like all of the other ColourPop lipsticks I’ve reviewed, Dopey applied perfectly. I didn’t need to use a lip brush as the applicator made for a nice, smooth application. I have to say that this lipstick is the most comfortable of them all! And it lasted all day! I’m really digging the Ultra Satin formula so far. I’m so impressed with how comfortable they are.

I think Dopey just became my favorite ColourPop lipstick! Maybe? Definitely one of them! It’s beautiful, comfortable and long lasting. What more could you ask for? You can see Dopey in action below!

I’ve been super busy organizing my makeup collection. I have to purchase a new desk because my old one is falling apart after two moves and years of use. I really need to get something sturdy with more storage space. I’m trying to organize all of my samples so that they have a dedicated space. I think that would be easier for me to keep track of what I have so that I can plan out reviews for each of them. I think the desk storage would be perfect for just that. I’d also like to do an updated post on my collection and how I have it organized. Once I finish reorganizing it of course. For now I’m just trying to keep my desk clear as things keep piling up. Oops?

Starting off the week with some more ColourPop goodness! Out of my recent ColourPop purchases Cheap Thrills is one of my favorites! Even though it had some issues.

Cheap Thrills is described as a dusty lilac. It’s such a pretty shade! Even the description sounds pretty! The issues I had? Well, it’s nothing like the other Ultra Matte Lip products I’ve tried from ColourPop. The applicator was a little odd, but I was still able to apply the lipstick without having to reach for my lip brush. The other applicators felt more padded and were comfortable. This one not so much. It was thinner and sort of stiff. The lipstick wasn’t as watery as the others and never seemed to fully dry down. My lips were a little tacky throughout the day. It wasn’t so bad though. It still applied perfectly and lasted all day with a few minor touch-ups after eating and drinking. I wouldn’t say this shade felt lightweight, but it wasn’t totally uncomfortable either.

I definitely prefer the formula on the other Ultra Matte Lip products I’ve tried in the past to this one. But the shade really is pretty and it looks so much nicer in person. Sometimes I can overlook a few issues if I really dig the shade. And I really dig this shade! You can see Cheap Thrills in action below!

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day! Mine was great! My family and I went to visit with the MIL. We brought her gifts and had some dinner together. It was nice. I really look forward to our Sunday meals together. Something I never thought I’d say. It’s funny how much can change in just a few years.

I don’t really post about things that don’t work for me. And I certainly don’t like posting unflattering photos of myself. Although after some time I feel all of my photos are unflattering. But I figured I’d change things up today and share this little gem with y’all.

I’m always tempted to try some of those ‘out there shades.’ Out there for me is a shade I wouldn’t dare wear outdoors. Some people can rock the hell out of green and blue lipstick, but I’m so not one of those people. And now I can add greyed out lavender to the list. I’m sure I can make it work by mixing it with another lipstick, but on its own? Nope. You can see my hell no finger wagging self down below. You’re welcome.

The photo above was taken during my first test. Usually I apply a light layer of lip balm before applying any lipstick. That just made the product slide around my lips making for an uneven application. I tried to get it to spread evenly, but had no luck. I tested it again this time without the lip balm and it applied perfectly. However, it still wasn’t doing me any favors. It was a very comfortable wear and I really like the finish. Also, the Ultra Satin Lip isn’t watery like the Ultra Mattes I’ve tried. It’s definitely more of a creamier lipstick. It’s very nice. If only it didn’t make me look sickly. Which I guess is the theme of the week thanks to this awful cold from hell. Have I complained enough about this cold? No?

I did end up getting a few more shades from the Ultra Satin Lip collection. Thankfully the other shades worked out for me. I had a feeling Marshmallow wasn’t going to work out, but I just had to try it. It’s funny because the husband was just as bummed that it didn’t work for me. He really loves the shade. So do I. So do I…
