Swatches (Top to Bottom): Androgyny, Masochist

When I purchased Androgyny I picked up another shade I had been eyeing. Actually there are quite a few I’d like to get still, but if I don’t limit myself things get out of hand.

Anyway, the shade I’m referring to is Masochist. Masochist is described as the color of crushed berries on ice. It’s one of the most beautiful, vibrant pinks in my collection. And let me tell you, once you put this bad boy on it’s not going anywhere! Even after removal it left behind a bit of a stain. Thankfully this one didn’t smell like anything. But as the lovely Amanda pointed out, it was just the raw ingredients and nothing to worry about. I just thought I’d mention it since Androgyny did have a strong scent.

Masochist applied perfectly. I did use my lip brush to line my lips because I find that I can be a bit messy with the darker shades. It felt very comfortable and lightweight and seriously lasted the entire day. I’m really digging the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Liquid Lipsticks and it’s quickly taking over my liquid lipstick drawer. And I think Masochist just might be my favorite.

Swatches (Top to Bottom): Androgyny, Masochist

I’m so happy to see the Jeffree Star Cosmetics line expanding. I’m even happier to see some really nice wearable shades. Like Androgyny. The swatches really sold me on this one. It’s the perfect shade! It looks beautiful on everyone I’ve seen wearing it. I was so excited to finally make it mine. I actually ordered from Beautylish this time. Shipping was so fast! I was really impressed. Ok now onto the good stuff.

Androgyny is described as a plum mauve. It was exactly what I was expecting! However, when I leaned in for a sniff (am I seriously the only one who does this?) it smelled really bad. It was pretty strong too. It wasn’t a rancid smell. It smelled very strong of chemicals or something. And it smelled just as bad when I went to apply it. However, once it dried down the smell disappeared. I really hope it’s nothing to worry about. I’ve never experienced anything like this before. My husband claims he couldn’t smell anything and insisted it was my upper lip (seriously).

Strong scent aside, it applied perfectly. I really love these applicators. They’re so soft and make for the perfect application! It felt really lightweight and comfortable. It started to feel a little dry around 6 hours, but not overly so. It lasted through a day of walking trails, Mexican food, and coffee. When I went to wash it off before bed there was still a hint of it there.

I really don’t know what to make of the scent, but it’s the most gorgeous lipstick! And my friend assures me that it’s nothing to worry about. Honestly, that’s all the convincing I need. You can see Androgyny in action below.

Swatches: Queen Supreme, 714

More Jeffree Star goodies! I actually purchased both Queen Supreme and 714, but had to do away with 714 because that one just wasn’t doing me any favors. It looks amazing on everyone else. Hopefully it gets shown lots of love in its new home. Queen Supreme on the other hand is one hell of a keeper! At first I was a little hesitant because it’s definitely out of my comfort zone. But I really like to have fun with my makeup. And this is such a fun shade to work with. It’s so vibrant and beautiful!

Application was fairly easy. Because this is a bolder shade I dipped a lip brush onto the applicator and lined my lips before applying. Then I just filled it in using the applicator which wasn’t as pillowy soft as Celebrity Skin, but still made for a nice application. It felt fairly comfortable and lasted all day with little fading. And I can’t even tell you how many compliments I got while wearing this beauty. You can see it in action below.
