Swatches (Top – Bottom): Surfboard, Luxury, Spray Tan, Sunset, On The Rocks, Paradise, Coconut, Sea Breeze

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m very impressed with the few Kylie Cosmetics products I’ve tried. So I’ve had my eye on all of the new releases. While the Vacation Collection was all very pretty, only one item really got my attention. That was the Take Me On Vacation Palette. That gorgeous teal shade is what did it for me. Truthfully, I probably have so many similar shades. But I really loved the palette as a whole and wanted to try more from the brand.

This gorgeous palette contains 16 eyeshadows.

  • First Class – Pastel Lavender (matte)
  • Sea Breeze – Soft Sand (matte)
  • Summer ’17 – Peachy Gold (metallic)
  • Coconut – Warm Taupe (matte)
  • Pina Colada – True Yellow (matte)
  • Paradise – Copper Gold (metallic)
  • Starfish – Soft Papaya (matte)
  • On The Rocks – Grey Lavender (matte)
  • Island Girl – Bright Teal (metallic)
  • Sunset – Red Copper (satin)
  • Sail Away – Deep Gold (metallic)
  • Spray Tan – Midtown Brown (matte)
  • Aloha – Pastel Peach (matte)
  • Luxury – Ruby Bronze (metallic)
  • Palm Tree – Deep Brown (matte)
  • Surf Board – Sea Green (metallic)

As you can see the palette contains a nice mixture of mattes and metallics with a satin thrown in. I found them all to be nicely pigmented. Some of the shades did need to be built up on the lids a bit, but it’s not like I had to keep packing on color or anything. Some of the shades are pastel so they do appear softer when applied. In fact when I showed my friend swatches she said it was much softer than she expected. I definitely get that vibe too, but I think the addition of the metallics really liven it up. I think you could create a few bold looks with this palette just as easily as you could a soft look. Don’t let those pastels fool you! You can see a look I created with the Take Me On Vacation Palette below.

Overall, it’s a gorgeous palette and I’m glad that I was able to get my hands on it. And it looks like there was another restock so if you want this beauty you better act fast!

Did you end up purchasing anything from the Vacation Collection? What about the latest Birthday Collection?

Swatches: Sweet Thing, Main Squeeze, Dirty Peach, Poppin’

We’re still on Valentine’s Day stuff? Yes. Yes we are! Better late than never, eh?

I was really impressed with the Kylie Cosmetics Sweet Heart Set and couldn’t wait to try the Kiss Me Set. Was the Kiss Me Set just as nice as the Sweet Heart Set? Let’s find out!

The eyeshadow duo contains the shades Sweet Thing and Main Squeeze. It’s just as nice as the duo in the Sweet Heart Set. The shadows applied and blended beautifully. The shades really do compliment each other nicely and made for a super cute look! I can’t get over how pretty Sweet Thing is!

Poppin’ Gloss is a pretty sparkly gold. It applied nice and evenly. I didn’t like it as much as Literally Gloss, but it wasn’t sticky and made for a comfortable wear. I just felt this one was a little too sheer for my liking.

Dirty Peach Matte Liquid Lipstick is a mid-tone yellow peach. Sadly this shade isn’t doing me any favors. It kind of makes me look sickly. It also looks so much different in my hand swatch. It definitely doesn’t look that bright on my lips. However, it did apply nicely and made for a comfortable wear.

I’m kind of sad that this is the end of my Kylie Valentine’s Day goodies. But you can expect to see the products in upcoming looks because I’m really digging everything! Well, everything expect for Dirty Peach maybe? Yikes!

Swatches: Baby, Love Letter, Dolce K, Literally

I try not to be one of those people who fall into the hype surrounding certain products or brands. I don’t purchase items because everyone and their mother says it’s the newest IT product. I purchase items that appeal to me. Items that I know I’ll use and love. And that’s why I’ve stayed away from Kylie Cosmetics. I didn’t get why everyone was going so crazy over those lip kits. I really didn’t think the shades were anything special. Nothing stood out to me. Then Valentine’s Day rolled around. My eyes lit up the moment I saw the Kylie Cosmetics Valentine’s Day promo photos. That was when I caved and placed my very first order with Kylie Cosmetics. I know. Even my best friend was in shock. With a tinge of disappointment haha!

I’m so glad I did though! The checkout process wasn’t nearly as bad as I expected. I did have to wait in line to checkout, but it was a fairly quick process. It took a whole week to ship which was a bit of a bummer. They did send a follow-up email letting me know they didn’t forget about me. I was really worried that I wouldn’t get my order in time for Valentine’s Day. I did end up getting it in time, but not early enough to post about it. You beauty bloggers know how it’s a process! Now let’s get to the good stuff!

The shadows are very soft and buttery. The matte shade is a little drier, but it wasn’t powdery or chalky. They’re very pigmented! They both applied and blended beautifully! I didn’t experience any creasing and my look was still going strong toward the end of the day.

Literally Gloss is a neutral mid-tone nude. It applied nice and evenly. It wasn’t sticky and it didn’t feel heavy. It was moisturizing and made for a really comfortable wear. It’s really only lasting if you don’t eat or drink. Sadly this didn’t hold up well with food and drink. But I’d have to say that it’s easily one of my favorite glosses. I don’t wear a lot of gloss these days, but I can definitely see myself reaching for this one regularly! It’s the perfect nude and it really is comfortable!

Dolce K Matte Liquid Lipstick is a deep beige nude. The first thing I noticed was the pleasant, subtle, fruity scent. It applied nice and evenly. The wand might not always pick up a lot of product (probably because it’s a mini) so you might have to dip more than once. It’s transfer-proof and lasted the whole day. Even with food and drink. I did find it to be a little drying toward the end of the day. I wouldn’t say this one was lightweight, but it still made for a comfortable wear.

Overall, I’m extremely happy with my purchase. I doubt I’ll get that many uses out of the mini lip products as they’re so small. But it was a great way for me to try out a few newer products from a new-to-me brand. I might just even purchase the full size of that gloss because I really do love it! The shadows really were impressive and I didn’t already have similar shades in my collection. I think for $22.00 this set was a great buy! I really hope Kylie Cosmetics does more mini sets like this in the future.

My only complaint would have to be their extremely slow processing time. I did receive my order a few days before Valentine’s Day, but it was cutting it really close. It would have been nice to post a few Valentine’s Day inspired looks BEFORE Valentine’s Day. Now it looks like I’ll have all of my Valentine’s Day goodies posted by the beginning of March!

A little side note: I decided to include larger selfies or photos of me wearing the talked about product. I was told that it would be nice to see close-ups. Back when I started this blog the idea of me posting even the smallest photo of myself made me cringe. But I’ve really gotten used to it over the years and actually enjoy photographing my looks now. What do you think of the new size? Is it still too small? Too large? Just right? I’d love your input!
