Swatches: Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation in 115 – R230

I was so excited when I found out that I would be getting this VoxBox. I don’t have a lot of Make Up For Ever in my collection, but I love the few items I do have. It’s nice to have the chance to test out some of their foundations. I’ve been meaning to try some out for a while now.

First up is the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation. I received the shade 115 – R230. It’s actually a really nice match. I didn’t notice a scent. It’s a little watery, but not runny. I applied it with my BeautyBlender over my moisturizer and primer. It applied and blended beautifully! I really like the coverage. I got a really nice medium coverage. It builds up nicely, but I didn’t get too carried away. I prefer a more natural looking coverage. I don’t mind if a few imperfections are peeking through. But this foundation actually covered most of it. Not that I have too much to cover at the moment. But it evened everything out perfectly!

It felt lightweight and was a really comfortable wear. I did start to get shiny around 3-4 hours, but it wasn’t so bad. It still looked pretty good around the 9 hour mark just before I washed it off. I really, really, really, loved this foundation. Until I washed it off and saw how red and irritated my face was. My cheeks were slightly swollen. By morning my cheeks were still slightly swollen, rosy, and I felt some bumps. It’s rare that a foundation causes this kind of a reaction. The only other face makeup that caused a similar reaction was Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer. Another product I loved and had to stop using because of my sensitive skin. I really wish I knew what about this foundation caused such a reaction. The only products that really cause my skin to freak out are serums and sheet masks.

Overall it really is a great foundation and if my skin hadn’t reacted negatively I definitely would have purchased it once I ran out. I didn’t like the shine poking through after just 3-4 hours, but it’s nothing that can’t be fixed. And that was the only con for me. Well, that and my cheeks swelling up. Can’t win ‘em all I guess.

You can see the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation in action below. I’d also like to mention how beautifully it photographs. It really is such a beautiful foundation. Now excuse me while I continue to pout.

Have you guys seen this HOT palette from Make Up For Ever? I haven’t stopped talking about it ever since Make Up For Ever posted it on their Facebook page. My wonderful husband tried convincing me that it looked like every other palette I own until he saw it on me. Once he saw the awesomeness that is the Blue Sepia Palette he knew that he was wrong and agreed that it was in fact a must have.

There are 8 eyeshadows in this palette. #128 Copper Fawn, #28 Coffee, #152 Light Pink, Petrol Blue, #04 Black, #98 Brown, #17 Espresso, and #127 Metallic Taupe. These shadows are all nicely pigmented and flow together perfectly. You can opt for a fairly bold look or go neutral if you prefer. Whatever style you’re going for I’m sure the Blue Sepia Palette will not disappoint. You can see a look I created with this amazing palette below. I applied Petrol Blue on my lid, #128 in my crease, #28 on the outer corner of my crease, #17 on my lower lash line, and #152 on the inner corner of my eye and as my highlighter.

I purchased the Make Up For Ever Technicolor Palette at Sephora last week for $36.00. There are 8 eyeshadows in black, yellow, apple green, turquoise, lilac, white, espresso, and yellow beige. It’s a really fun palette that contains both neutral and bold colorful shades. I really love that you can create a nice neutral look or a nice bold colorful look all in one palette. And I didn’t even have to reach for my go-to highlighter because the yellow beige color worked perfectly for me. Below you can see a simple look I created using the white shade all over my lid and inner corner of my eye, the lilac shade on the inner and outer part of my lid, the espresso shade on my crease, the yellow beige shade as a highlighter, and the turquoise shade on my lower lash line. I think they all tied together nicely. They blended fairly easily although the espresso did need a little more effort to achieve the look I was going for. It lasted throughout the entire day with very little to no creasing or fading.

This palette is definitely a new favorite for me.
