Is it just me or was January the month from hell? I’m trying to remain positive, but I’m pretty bummed that this year is off to such a rocky start. Either way I’m pushing through it. I’ve revived an older project of mine so right now my time is divided between my blog and my business. I’m also trying to find out how to work in a doable exercise routine without killing myself. Managing my time has never been one of my strong suits.

I know I mentioned trying to use what I have instead of splurging on things so easily. But after the month I had I figured I deserved a little treat. So while walking around Sephora I spotted some of the Natasha Denona Mini Eyeshadow Palettes and scooped one up. The Mini Lila Eyeshadow Palette was just too pretty to pass up.

The Natasha Denona Mini Lila Eyeshadow Palette is said to be an extension of the existing Lila Palette featuring 5 brand new shades. The plum shade is what stood out to me the most. However, the blue also caught my eye. I don’t have a lot of blue in my collection. I really do favor the reds, pinks, and purples. I thought it would be a fun way to try something a little out of my comfort zone.

The shadows all swatched and blended beautifully. Even the darker shades which usually give me a bit of trouble. The shades all complimented each other beautifully and I was able to create a full look using this palette. Even though there are only 5 shadows you can easily create a few looks with this palette. You can see a look I created with the Natasha Denona Min Lila Eyeshadow Palette below.

Overall, I’d have to say that I absolutely love this palette! I do still find the full size palettes to be rather pricey, but I totally get why. The quality is really there. But for now these mini palettes are a really great way to experiment with the brand and see what they’re all about.

Have you tried any of the Natasha Denona Mini Eyeshadow Palettes? What do you think of them?

Swatches: Diamond Powder, Duo Glow

Believe it or not this is my first Natasha Denona piece! I’ve been eying the palettes for so long, but they’re so pricey and I already own so many similar shades. So I end up doing the thing where I add it to my cart, ask if I REALLY need this palette, and then empty my cart and call it a day. The Gold Palette almost had me during the holiday season. But I believe it was sold out when I went to place my order. I took it as a sign and never looked back.

When I saw the mini blush duos I figured it was the perfect time to finally try something from the brand. The Mini Diamond & Glow contains the Nude Pressed Diamond Powder and the Duo Glow which is the perfect pink with champagne highlight that shifts to green.

They both swatched nicely. The Diamond Powder is very shimmery and needs to be layered a bit to really show up in a swatch. However, it applied beautifully on my cheeks. I’ve heard a lot of people complaining that it’s a glitter bomb, but it’s called Diamond Powder. I feel like a lot of shimmer is to be expected. But I think it was nicely done. There was a bit of fallout, but it wasn’t that bad. I was worried the Duo Glow was going to be too shimmery to work as a blush. While it is quite shimmery it surprisingly worked out very well. At first I went in with a light hand to get an idea of what I was working with. Once I saw how beautifully it applied I went in with a slightly heavier hand. In the end I was very pleased with my look. You can see the Natasha Denona Mini Diamond & Glow in action below.

Overall, I think this mini duo is super cute! The packaging is gorgeous. The pans are on the smaller side so you might have difficulties getting your brush in there. I didn’t experience any issues, but I guess it would depend on your brush. If you’re not a fan of shimmer you might not like this mini duo. I don’t really care for shimmer, but I ended up loving it anyway. It’s cute and I can see it pairing well with Valentine’s Day looks.
