Remember when I was complaining about missing out on the Ooh La La! Palette? I finally got it and at a great price too! Sometime last week one of my friends was talking about placing yet another ColourPop order. She has a serious problem haha! I suggested she wait because they should be coming out with their Holiday Collection soon. And sure enough the very next day they mentioned it on their Instagram. So when I placed my holiday order I scooped up the Ooh La La! Palette for just $9.60! Talk about luck.

This palette is definitely my new favorite from ColourPop. I love all of the pinks and purples. They compliment each other beautifully! It’s a nice balance of mattes and metallics. They are all incredibly pigmented. They apply and blend beautifully. At first glance it might seem like there aren’t many color combinations you can use, but that’s not the case at all. I’ve already created quite a few looks. It’s definitely more on the bold side, but it can just as easily be toned down a bit.

My first time using the palette I decided to attempt a cut crease. I don’t know why especially since it’s something that has never worked for me in the past. However, I felt like I did much better this time around. I first posted a look on my Instagram stories and joked how I wouldn’t be able to replicate it again for the blog. Thankfully that wasn’t the case. I really love how my look turned out. I know it’s not perfect, but it’s much better than my hundreds of failed attempts. I actually feel comfortable sharing this one. You can see my look below.

For this look I used Soft Core and Poodle in my crease, Caddy to darken my crease, Tickled on my lid and inner corner of my eye with a dampened brush, and another shade from another palette for my brow bone. I used a combination of Caddy and Poodle for my lower lash line.

I decided to share another more wearable look. For this one I used Soft Core and Poodle in my crease, Trove on my outer crease/lid and lower lash line, Moon Struck on my lid, Tickled on the inner corner of my eye, and another shade from another palette for my brow bone.

Overall, I’d have to say this palette is great! I absolutely love it and I’m so happy I was able to finally add it to my collection. As far as palettes go this is definitely high up on my favorites list. In fact you might just hear about it again in my 2018 Favorites.

Have you tried the Ooh La La! Palette? Did you purchase anything from ColourPop’s Holiday Collection?

Sephora Favorites Lash Party Mascara Sampler

Every year I tell myself that I’m finally going to try one of those Sephora Favorites sampler boxes, but never actually buy one. I guess I just never felt like I needed any of the products? Even if the boxes are super cute! Well, this year I found myself running a little low on mascara. When I say running low I mean low on samples. There are only a few that I’ll actually purchase a full size of, but I like to keep a few samples on hand. I love trying new mascara in hopes of finding a new favorite. And since I cancelled all of my subscription boxes I really started to miss those samples. So when I spotted the Sephora Favorites Lash Party Mascara Sampler I scooped it up. My store usually runs out of these pretty quickly. I’m wondering if this box was maybe from last year since it was the only one there and it didn’t show in my purchase history. In fact it’s nowhere on the Sephora website. They do have the Lashstash To Go which actually looks a little more my style. But of course my store didn’t have that one in stock. So I just grabbed whatever they had. Even if I were to purchase like 2 samples I would have paid the same as Lash Party. At least with Lash Party I get 3 extra samples to try out.

The Sephora Favorites Lash Party Mascara Sampler contains 6 samples. I’ll list each one along with a photo of the mascara and a close up of the wand.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

Despite this set possibly being an older version, the mascaras included are all new to me. Aside from the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. I wasn’t really a fan of it when I purchased it a while back. I suppose I could give it another try. It’s a cute set and I’m sure each of these will get some use. Even the box that the set came in is cute and can be reused. I might just use it to store samples I’m planning to test soon. It’s the perfect size for that.

Have you purchased any of the Sephora Favorites sets this year? What did you get?

Swatch

My first Fenty Beauty review was not a positive one. I had high hopes, but in the end I was let down. The good thing is that I purchased more than one product. I was hoping at least one of them would be a winner.

The Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paints were an easy pick for me. I love me some liquid lipstick! The packaging was also very unique and really pretty. There are 5 shades to choose from. I bought Uncuffed and Unveil. Today I will be talking about Uncuffed.

Uncuffed is described as a rosy mauve. I’m really digging the packaging. It might not be the easiest to store in a drawer, but it’s an elegant piece and looks great sitting on your vanity. I also like how I can easily see how much product is left since the bottle is clear and doesn’t contain any labels. The applicator is different from your typical doe foot applicator. I was worried I was going to struggle with application. To my surprise application was even easier. Despite the smaller applicator it holds just enough product to coat your lips evenly without having to dip it back in. I didn’t detect a scent really. Once it dried down it felt really nice and it was in fact lightweight. It made for a super comfortable wear. I don’t know about the 12-hour hold, but it did last a good 6-8 hours before fading. But it was a nice even fade so it didn’t look that bad.

You can see the Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint in Uncuffed in action below.

Overall, I’d have to say that I love Uncuffed. It’s a gorgeous every day lip color and the quality of the lipstick is really good. I’d really love to see some new and exciting shades added to the Stunna Lip Paint line. I don’t think any of the shades really stand out. Truthfully, I only purchased them to experiment and try a little something from the brand. I’d definitely purchase more if they came out with some unique shades.
