Derma E Hydrating Facial Wipes

Derma E Hydrating Facial Wipes

I’ve talked about facial wipes on the blog a few times. I really only mention them if they really wow me. I keep a bunch on hand to remove swatches and lipstick, but I rarely use them on my face. I hate the way most wipes leave my skin afterward. Ever since being diagnosed with rosacea I’ve had to lay off my favorite wipes until my skin is healed. I’m not supposed to exfoliate right now. I’d hate to waste one of those wipes only using one side. So I had to find a more gentle wipe to use in the meantime. Then I remembered I had this lovely package sitting in my drawer.

I’ve been using the Derma E Hydrating Facial Wipes for the past month to remove my eye makeup and lipstick. And you know what? I’m in love! The package contains 25 wipes. They claim to quickly and conveniently remove makeup, oil, and impurities while hydrating, softening, and smoothing the skin. They are infused with hyaluronic acid and superfruit extracts. Each wipe is 100% compostable and the outer packaging is 100% recyclable.

So why do I love them so much? Like I mentioned before, they don’t leave an icky film behind after using them. I don’t feel the need to quickly wash my face after removing my eye makeup. Even though I should because I seriously look ridiculous. But when I’m home I’m usually bouncing around from room to room doing at least 10 different things at once. It’s a relief to not have to worry about my skin feeling gross or my eyes stinging/burning because all I wanted to do was remove my eye makeup. They’re also super gentle for the eye and mouth area. I don’t have to rub too hard. My makeup comes off so easily. And they smell so fresh and clean! I detect a light cucumber scent. No strong chemical scent.

I really hope Derma E keeps these wipes around. They’re one of the very few I can honestly say that I love. It’s also a huge plus that Derma E is much easier to get my hands on. I’ve spotted their products in quite a few stores. I don’t recall if I’ve ever seen the wipes though. I’ll have to keep an eye out for sure. In the meantime I definitely plan to purchase a few of these online so that I have enough on hand.

Are you a fan of facial wipes? Which ones are your favorite?

Note: You can also find these wipes on the Shop Hush app. They are $7.00 there and ship for free!

Swatch

I’ve been talking about the Shop Hush app and Bad Habit products since late last year. Ever since I heard about it I’ve been checking the app every single day. I’m not that obsessed. I swear. It’s just that the app has so much more to offer. Like claiming a daily reward that you can use for purchases later. They also have a feed similar to Instagram where you can post photos and interact with other fellow beauty lovers. Shipping is free and surprisingly super fast considering they ship from the West Coast. I usually receive my order within 2 days!

Anyway, one day I happened to log in and saw that they had new Liquified Matte Lipsticks. Y’all know how much I love my liquid lipsticks. So I ordered one to try out. I had some points to use up and with free shipping it didn’t cost me anything.

The packaging is pretty cool. A little bulky though. I did detect a light chemical scent, but it wasn’t bothersome. It applied so easily! I didn’t have any issues trying to even it out. Once it dried down it still felt a little tacky. It wasn’t transfer-proof, but it was still long lasting. After about 8 hours or so it faded to a nice even stain. I can’t really complain because it was super comfortable. I’m really digging this lipstick. The shade is my perfect shade and it’s perfect for Fall. I’ve been reaching for it so often that I had to move it to my most reached for items drawer.

Overall, I’d have to say that I’m very impressed with Trophy Life. After wearing it a few times I caved and bought a few more to try out. I opted for some of the darker shades for Fall.

Have you tried anything from Bad Habit?

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream Oil-Free Matte

Swatches: Neutral Tan, Tan, Rich, Rich Honey, Deep

IT Cosmetics has a new addition to their Your Skin But Better CC+ line. It now comes in an Oil-Free Matte formula! They also included a few different shades. They recently added 48 shades to their Bye Bye Under Eye line. So I’m hoping they will start rolling out more shades for their other products as well.

The IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream Oil-Free Matte with SPF 40 comes in the prettiest packaging. It claims to deliver color-correcting full coverage for a poreless, natural-looking matte finish. It also claims not to crease or crack while reducing oil and shine for up to 12 hours. It’s infused with charcoal to detoxify, colloidal clay to absorb oil, tea tree extract to combat blemishes, with anti-aging serum made of hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, niacin, hyaluronic acid, vitamins, and antioxidants.

I’ve been wearing the shade Light for the past week. Their Light shade has always been a fairly decent match. However, I can’t help but feel like this one is a lot darker than their other Light products. It was also very thick and creamy. I ended up thinning it out a bit with my moisturizer and in the end it worked out beautifully. I used my trusty Beauty Blender to apply it. It applied nicely and did a great job at evening things out. Including my redness. I did have to build up a bit around my cheeks, but it built up nicely. I will say that while I didn’t experience any issues with creasing, if you get too carried away with the building up it will crease and even start to look a little cakey. I would probably reach for this during good skin days and maybe opt for something else when I need that extra coverage. Thankfully that’s not something I have to worry about these days. This CC+ Cream has really been doing the trick.

I wouldn’t say it felt lightweight, but it did feel comfortable and more natural. I even feel like it looked more natural. It did start to break up around my nose and mouth after about 6 or so hours. But considering I wore this out during a heatwave (and my thinning it out) I’d say that’s still pretty good. I honestly don’t see this lasting 12 hours, but I would feel comfortable wearing this to work or a night out. I do want to note that I did set this with a powder afterward. I also used a setting spray. You can see the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream Oil-Free Matte in the shade Light in action below.

I ended up loving this CC+ Cream. I love it more than the original. I love the way it felt on my skin. I love the way it looked. It didn’t irritate my super sensitive skin. And I’m very impressed with how well it evened out my skin. This has really come in handy during the warmer days given that it offers sun protection and helps control oil. The only downside might be finding a shade that will work for you.

Have you tried the new IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream Oil-Free Matte? What foundation have you been wearing this Summer?
