Joanna Vargas Daily Serum

Joanna Vargas Daily Serum

So it’s been a little while! I have a lot going on in my personal life at the moment. Sometimes it’s difficult for me to juggle so much at once. I really am going to try and get back to my 2-3 weekly posts though. I really have been doing a lot behind the scenes. It just hasn’t made it to the blog yet. It’s coming!

Right now I’m going to talk about this Daily Serum from Joanna Vargas. Joanna Vargas is a celebrity facialist. She has a salon in New York, NY and one in Los Angeles, CA. She also has a line of skin care products that you can purchase online.

Joanna Vargas Daily Serum

The Daily Serum is a clarifying serum that restores skin balance and resilience. They say it’s the green juice for the face. It claims to be lightweight and super hydrating. It’s a revitalizing formula that blends a variety of antioxidant-rich botanical elements to repair and prevent the visible signs of aging. Let’s take a look at some of the key ingredients.

  • Hyaluronic Acid
  • Vitamin A
  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin E
  • Dimethicone
  • Antioxidants

To use, after cleansing gently pat 1-2 pumps into dry skin.

I’ve been using this serum every single day for a little over a month. Here are my thoughts. First, I’d like to note that I only apply it once a day as part of my nighttime routine. However, they claim it can also be worn under makeup for daytime wear. I find that 1 pump is more than enough for me. It’s fairly easy to get 1/2 pump out for a little extra though. I can see why they call it green juice with its light green color. I did detect a scent and it took a while for me to figure out what it reminds me of. Orange Julius! It’s not bothersome at all. I found it to be nice and refreshing.

Joanna Vargas Daily Serum

It truly is nice and lightweight. It absorbs pretty fast and leaves my skin feeling soft. I also notice that it evens out the redness on my cheeks a bit. After a few weeks I noticed that the dry patches on my skin vanished. At some point the line in the middle of my brows wasn’t as noticeable. The same goes for the fine lines around my eyes and mouth. My skin feels firmer and looks brighter. I definitely notice a difference in my skin after using this serum. And it played nice with my super sensitive skin. I didn’t experience any issues.

This truly is a great serum! I’m very impressed with the results and I’ll definitely purchase a bottle once I run out.

Swatches: Heavy Glam, Chic Happens, Lit, Razy

I really can’t stay away from those ColourPop pressed shadows! So far I’ve purchased 3 of their quad palettes and a handful of their single shadows. I ended up transferring all of the pans into a few of their medium sized palettes. But that’s a post for another time. Right now I’m going to talk about $aucey!

$aucey is from ColourPop’s ILUVSARAHII Collection. $aucey contains 4 of their pressed shadows in the shades Heavy Glam which is a vibrant duochrome orange with a pink flip. Chic Happens which is a matte cool mauve. Lit which is a vibrant metallic purple. And Razy which is a matte blackened plum.

The mattes are a little hard compared to the metallics which are so soft they’re almost buttery. But they’re still very easy to work with and very pigmented. They all applied and blended beautifully. Razy can be a little tricky to work with so maybe use a light hand at first and apply more as needed. I went in a little heavy at first and had to wipe it off and start over. It went much smoother the second time around using a light hand and applying more as needed.

The shades included in this palette all compliment each other nicely and made for a beautiful look. I did have to reach for another palette for a highlight shade, but it wasn’t an issue for me. If you were planning to take this on a trip you could always remove one of the pans and replace it with another.

This palette is still in stock and on sale for just $12.00! That makes the shadows just $3.00 each! You really can’t beat that! You can see a look I created with $aucey below.

Kylie Cosmetics Take Me On Vacation Palette

Swatches (Top – Bottom): Surfboard, Luxury, Spray Tan, Sunset, On The Rocks, Paradise, Coconut, Sea Breeze

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m very impressed with the few Kylie Cosmetics products I’ve tried. So I’ve had my eye on all of the new releases. While the Vacation Collection was all very pretty, only one item really got my attention. That was the Take Me On Vacation Palette. That gorgeous teal shade is what did it for me. Truthfully, I probably have so many similar shades. But I really loved the palette as a whole and wanted to try more from the brand.

This gorgeous palette contains 16 eyeshadows.

  • First Class – Pastel Lavender (matte)
  • Sea Breeze – Soft Sand (matte)
  • Summer ’17 – Peachy Gold (metallic)
  • Coconut – Warm Taupe (matte)
  • Pina Colada – True Yellow (matte)
  • Paradise – Copper Gold (metallic)
  • Starfish – Soft Papaya (matte)
  • On The Rocks – Grey Lavender (matte)
  • Island Girl – Bright Teal (metallic)
  • Sunset – Red Copper (satin)
  • Sail Away – Deep Gold (metallic)
  • Spray Tan – Midtown Brown (matte)
  • Aloha – Pastel Peach (matte)
  • Luxury – Ruby Bronze (metallic)
  • Palm Tree – Deep Brown (matte)
  • Surf Board – Sea Green (metallic)

As you can see the palette contains a nice mixture of mattes and metallics with a satin thrown in. I found them all to be nicely pigmented. Some of the shades did need to be built up on the lids a bit, but it’s not like I had to keep packing on color or anything. Some of the shades are pastel so they do appear softer when applied. In fact when I showed my friend swatches she said it was much softer than she expected. I definitely get that vibe too, but I think the addition of the metallics really liven it up. I think you could create a few bold looks with this palette just as easily as you could a soft look. Don’t let those pastels fool you! You can see a look I created with the Take Me On Vacation Palette below.

Overall, it’s a gorgeous palette and I’m glad that I was able to get my hands on it. And it looks like there was another restock so if you want this beauty you better act fast!

Did you end up purchasing anything from the Vacation Collection? What about the latest Birthday Collection?
