Swatches: 125 Light Beige C, 130 Light Sand W, 135 Light Natural N, 140 Light Honey W, 145 Light Tan W

IT Cosmetics recently came out with a brand new foundation. Meet the Confidence In A Foundation! This full coverage, oil-free matte foundation promises to be long wearing and weightless. It’s infused with ceramides, peptides, hydrolyzed collagen, hyaluronic acid, and squalane. I really like their other foundations and most recently their Oil-Free CC Cream. So I just couldn’t wait to test this out.

As most of you already know I’m not big on full coverage foundations. I’m sure I could benefit from it, but I just hate the way most feel on my skin. Even the ones that claim to be weightless end up feeling so heavy. It’s just not something I feel comfortable wearing. They also tend to be really thick and can end up looking cakey if you aren’t careful. I’d rather just use a medium buildable coverage and if a few imperfections peek through so be it. I’d rather look imperfect and natural than have a ton of makeup caked on my face. So I was really curious to see how I’d get along with the IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Foundation.

IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Foundation

There are 48 shades to choose from. It might be tricky finding your shade based on hand swatches alone, but I still swatched every shade I received in case you were curious as to what they look like. I suggest going to Ulta or Sephora and swatching them in person to find your perfect match. Usually their Light shades are a decent enough match, but this time I found that their Light Beige (125) was a better match for me.

IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Foundation

It’s on the thick side, but I didn’t find it to be so thick that I couldn’t blend it out easily. It does dry a little fast, but I didn’t have to rush through application. It builds up pretty nicely, but it can get a little cakey if you get too carried away or have any dry patches. The coverage is pretty amazing and looks surprisingly natural. It did an amazing job at evening out my redness. I would say it does feel pretty weightless so long as you don’t go too crazy layering. It felt really nice and made for a super comfortable wear. You can see the IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Foundation in action below.

IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Foundation

Overall, I’d have to say this foundation is a real winner. Honestly, wearing a full coverage foundation regularly is going to take me some getting used to. But I feel like the IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Foundation will make the transition that much easier for me. It’s a really beautiful foundation. The only issue is finding that perfect shade. So far I feel like the Light Beige (125) is looking pretty good on me. But you really need to try these in person to find that perfect match. Because some of these light shades are definitely not light and more orange. Even some of the fair shades look a bit orange to me. Not really sure what’s up with that. Thankfully the Light Beige (125) blended out beautifully and ended up being a really nice match.

Have you tried the IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Foundation? What is your current go-to foundation?

Pixi Beauty Skintreats

Trying to play catch up after being sick while also doing a massive Spring cleaning has been… hectic. I’m just glad to be feeling better. Although I’m still not feeling 100% just yet. I’m pushing through it though.

I do have so much that I want to share starting with some new and not so new goodies from Pixi Beauty. I’ve only recently started experimenting with their products, but I already have a few favorites including one listed here.

Pixi Beauty Skintreats

DetoxifEYE
NEW from Pixi Beauty is the DetoxifEYE Depuffing Eye Patches. These hydrogel patches are infused with cucumber and gold to help soothe, nourish, and fortify your under-eyes.

I couldn’t wait to try these eye patches. My skin is pretty sensitive so I was a little worried about how they’d work for me. But after being sick for so long and really looking the part, my eyes really needed a pick me up. So I went in. Immediately after applying the patches I felt a slight cooling sensation. My under-eye area felt so refreshed. Once I took the patches off I pat the serum into my skin and let it absorb. I definitely noticed a difference. My eyes looked less dull and tired.

You can also refrigerate these so they offer more of a cooling sensation. I can see this working nicely in the Summer.

Pixi Beauty Skintreats

Peel & Polish
Not so new radiance revealing enzyme peel that resurfaces for smoother, softer skin. Contains natural fruit enzymes that loosen dead skin cells while lactic acid gently exfoliates.

Pixi Beauty Skintreats

T-Zone Peel Off Mask
Not so new T-Zone Peel Off Mask that purifies pores. Contains avocado and green tea.

Pixi Beauty Skintreats

Glow Mud Mask
Not so new Glow Mud Mask is a purifying, glow revealing clay mask that is said to purify and balance skin.

Pixi Beauty Skintreats

GLOW Glycolic Boost
NEW from Pixi Beauty is the GLOW Glycolic Boost Sheet Mask. It claims to be an instant brightening and hydrating effect sheet mask.

Have you tried any of these products? Have any of them caught your eye?

March has definitely been a busy month for me. Things started off on a positive note. My husband got me a new computer. My old mac was so old that I couldn’t upgrade any apps I had installed. Some wouldn’t even run at all. I couldn’t run 2 at the same time… you get the idea. I still don’t know how I managed to get any work done on that thing. It took a lot of patience. Well, with the new computer comes updated apps. Just when I started to dive in I ended up coming down with the flu. I’m just now starting to feel like my old self again. So now I get to figure out how to work these very new to me apps. On the plus side it’s nice to be able to run Photoshop while playing music in the background again. What’s even nicer? My apps not closing out in the middle of working before I can save my progress. Good times.

Just before getting sick I had reviewed the e.l.f. Poreless Putty Primer. Unfortunately it just didn’t wow me, but it sent me on a mission to try and track down the Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer to see if they were in fact similar.

I was finally able to find one in stock at my local Sephora, but they only had the mini size. This wasn’t really a big deal for me since I was really only wanting to try it out. The mini was the perfect size for just that. The only downside to that is that the mini doesn’t appear to come with a spatula which is how you scoop the product out of the container. At least mine didn’t come with one. Luckily I had a spatula of sorts handy. This makes application a little more sanitary.

Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer Mini

Obviously the packaging is much nicer. Then again it is Tatcha. Their packaging is always really nice. The product itself smelled amazing! The texture is a bit like the Poreless Putty Primer, but The Silk Canvas Protective Primer is richer. It’s more of a balm. It melted into my skin effortlessly. My makeup never applied so beautifully. I feel like it gave my skin that flawless airbrushed look. I was surprised. For me this primer lasted pretty much all day. By the end of the day my makeup was still going strong.

I love me some e.l.f. and they certainly have a lot of winners in my book. However, I just don’t think you can compare the Poreless Putty Primer to The Silk Canvas Protective Primer. They might have some similarities, but I wouldn’t go around calling it a dupe.

You can see the Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer in action below.

Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer Mini

Overall, I’d have to say that this primer did more than wow me. I love how it made my makeup look and feel. I love how long lasting it was. I love how amazing it smells. I’ll definitely purchase a full size.

Have you tried the Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer? What primer are you loving at the moment?
