I’m slowly, but surely trying to get back into a routine. After everything that’s happened I’m feeling a little overwhelmed. I’m trying to just take it one day at a time. I’m still feeling upset about my hair. I really am trying to look at the bright side. Once a week I go to get my hair deep conditioned, my color refreshed, and I walk out looking like me again. I’m grateful for that. I truly am. But in between appointments when I wash my own hair and I see it crunch back up again, I can’t help but feel sad. And when I see my frail hair breaking off my anxiety kicks in and I wonder how much longer I have to deal with this. I feel like an annoyance when I constantly ask how much longer my hair is going to be like this, but I guess that’s anxiety for you. You constantly need to be reassured. Even though I’m told it will be a while before my hair looks and feels like normal hair again, I wonder if that’s even true. I feel like it’s going to be like this until it grows out and I can cut off the frail bits.

ColourPop Pressed Powder Shadow Palette in Sweet Talk

Anyway, last week I talked about my latest ColourPop order. I just had to get my hands on the Pressed Powder Shadow Palette in It’s My Pleasure and Sweet Talk. Had I not laid my eyes on Sweet Talk I probably could have stayed away from ColourPop for a while. But this palette really caught my eye. It’s so pretty and absolutely perfect for Spring!

The Pressed Powder Shadow Palette in Sweet Talk contains 12 eyeshadows in 4 different formulas! It includes their pressed powder, pressed pigment, pressed glitter, and super shock shadow! I’m really digging the variety here. There is a nice combination of transition shades and some really pretty sparkly lid shades. I appreciate the addition of a base shade. I love using those types on my brow bone. The shadows all applied and blended beautifully. Apparently a few shades aren’t meant to be used in the eye area. I probably wouldn’t put the glitters near my eye anyway as they were quite chunky. The pigments didn’t cause any irritation though and my eyes can be pretty sensitive. You can see a look I created with the Pressed Powder Shadow Palette in Sweet Talk below.

Overall, I’d have to say that I really love this palette. I have no clue how I’ll use the pressed glitters, but the rest of the shadows are just gorgeous and will get lots of use. I wouldn’t say it’s a must have since a few of these can’t even be applied near your eyes. I’m pretty sure I even have a few of these shades in other ColourPop palettes and you might too. Or at least it seems that way since they all start to look the same at some point. I really do need to lay off the palettes for a while, but Sweet Talk was just too pretty to pass up. Even the packaging is pretty!

Did you purchase anything from ColourPop’s Spring collection? How would you use the pressed glitters?

So you’re probably thinking ‘It sure didn’t take you long to start ordering from ColourPop again.’ I guess it didn’t. Shortly after I swore them off they came out with their Spring collection and I really struggled over whether or not I should place an order. Then one of my friends kept telling me that I needed the It’s My Pleasure Palette in my life and I eventually caved. I’m a sucker for purple so she really didn’t have to convince me. I ended up ordering some of the Spring stuff along with the Pressed Powder Shadow Palette in It’s My Pleasure. I also ordered another Pressed Powder Blush in Soul Mate to see if I did in fact receive a bad batch. Turns out I did because the new one swatches so much better! Thanks for nothing, ColourPop! All I wanted was a replacement. But if it’s one thing I’ve learned in all of my years of shopping with ColourPop, it’s that if you receive something damaged or if it just doesn’t perform the way that it should, you’re pretty much stuck with it. But hey at least they got the customer service thing down. Oh wait…

Ok I’m done being petty. Now we can talk about how gorgeous this palette is! The Pressed Powder Shadow Palette in It’s My Pleasure contains 9 eyeshadows. It’s a mix of mattes and metallics with a few pressed pigments thrown in. This surely is a purple lovers dream palette. These jewel tones really stand out. They swatched beautifully. A few of the darker shades were a bit dry and looked a little patchy when I swatched them. However, I didn’t experience any issues during application. They applied and blended beautifully. You can see a look I created with the Pressed Powder Shadow Palette in It’s My Pleasure below.

Overall, I’d have to say this is another great palette from ColourPop. I really thought the Ooh La La! Palette was my favorite, but I think the It’s My Pleasure Palette might have taken its place.

IT Cosmetics recently came out with a brand new foundation. Meet the Confidence In A Foundation! This full coverage, oil-free matte foundation promises to be long wearing and weightless. It’s infused with ceramides, peptides, hydrolyzed collagen, hyaluronic acid, and squalane. I really like their other foundations and most recently their Oil-Free CC Cream. So I just couldn’t wait to test this out.

As most of you already know I’m not big on full coverage foundations. I’m sure I could benefit from it, but I just hate the way most feel on my skin. Even the ones that claim to be weightless end up feeling so heavy. It’s just not something I feel comfortable wearing. They also tend to be really thick and can end up looking cakey if you aren’t careful. I’d rather just use a medium buildable coverage and if a few imperfections peek through so be it. I’d rather look imperfect and natural than have a ton of makeup caked on my face. So I was really curious to see how I’d get along with the IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Foundation.

IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Foundation

There are 48 shades to choose from. It might be tricky finding your shade based on hand swatches alone, but I still swatched every shade I received in case you were curious as to what they look like. I suggest going to Ulta or Sephora and swatching them in person to find your perfect match. Usually their Light shades are a decent enough match, but this time I found that their Light Beige (125) was a better match for me.

IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Foundation

It’s on the thick side, but I didn’t find it to be so thick that I couldn’t blend it out easily. It does dry a little fast, but I didn’t have to rush through application. It builds up pretty nicely, but it can get a little cakey if you get too carried away or have any dry patches. The coverage is pretty amazing and looks surprisingly natural. It did an amazing job at evening out my redness. I would say it does feel pretty weightless so long as you don’t go too crazy layering. It felt really nice and made for a super comfortable wear. You can see the IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Foundation in action below.

IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Foundation

Overall, I’d have to say this foundation is a real winner. Honestly, wearing a full coverage foundation regularly is going to take me some getting used to. But I feel like the IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Foundation will make the transition that much easier for me. It’s a really beautiful foundation. The only issue is finding that perfect shade. So far I feel like the Light Beige (125) is looking pretty good on me. But you really need to try these in person to find that perfect match. Because some of these light shades are definitely not light and more orange. Even some of the fair shades look a bit orange to me. Not really sure what’s up with that. Thankfully the Light Beige (125) blended out beautifully and ended up being a really nice match.

Have you tried the IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Foundation? What is your current go-to foundation?
