Swatches: Fluff, Trainwreck, Zoned Out, Iffy, Filtered

And now for the piece I’d like to title the palette I didn’t need, but bought anyway. It’s lilac and y’all know that I’m a sucker for purples.

The ColourPop Lilac You A Lot Palette contains 9 eyeshadows in both matte and metallic finishes. The deeper mattes look a little dry in my swatches. Thankfully they applied so much nicer than they swatched. In fact they all applied and blended beautifully. I rarely have issues with their shadows so I’m not at all surprised. The shades all compliment each other beautifully. I do wish there was a nice base shade included. Although I guess it would be a bit much to keep including one in each palette they release. And they seriously have one in every color of the rainbow. But that would be my only issue with this palette.

Like with a few of their other palettes, 4 of the shades are labeled ‘not intended for use in immediate eye area.’ But I see everyone else slapping them shades on so I just go with it. I do try my best not to get it into my eyes though. I haven’t experienced any issues so far and my eyes can be sensitive. I just thought I’d mention it because I didn’t even notice those labels until I was a few palettes in.

You can see a look I created with the Lilac You A Lot Palette below. I used the shades Imagine That, Filtered, Wake Me, and Iffy. I used a shadow from another palette for my brow bone.

Overall, I’d have to say that I love this palette. But I think I’ve been playing it safe. I’m thinking about purchasing the yellow and green palettes. Maybe even the blue. Even though I know I have no business wearing any of those shades. Have you tried any of them? Let me know your thoughts!

Pixi Beauty 20 Years Of Glow

Pixi Beauty 20 Years Of Glow

Pixi Beauty recently celebrated 20 years and kindly sent over some of their best selling products to help celebrate. I’ll list each product below complete with direct links, pricing, and swatches.

Glow Mist $15.00
Pixi Beauty 20 Years Of Glow

The Glow Mist is a nifty all in one product. You can use it to hydrate your skin, set your makeup, or to refresh throughout the day.

Glow Tonic $4.00 – $29.00
Pixi Beauty 20 Years Of Glow

I’m not surprised to see the Glow Tonic included with the best sellers. It’s easily the first item to come to mind when I think of Pixi Beauty. For those who don’t know, the Glow Tonic is a toner to be used after cleansing. It exfoliates and purifies the skin with glycolic acid. I apply this only once a week for a light exfoliation. I’m guessing if you don’t have rosacea or sensitive skin you might be able to use it more often.

Rose Ceramide Cream $24.00
Pixi Beauty 20 Years Of Glow

The Rose Ceramide Cream is an ultra-rich cream infused with ceramides and rose oil. It’s a really nice moisturizer and the packaging is just too pretty!

MatteLast Liquid Lip $14.00
Pixi Beauty 20 Years Of Glow
Pixi Beauty 20 Years Of Glow

This is the MatteLast Liquid Lip in the shade Berry Beauty. I’ve tried a few of their MatteLast Liquid Lip products and love them. They apply nicely and are fairly comfortable. I love the citrus scent. The Berry Beauty appears to have a more purplish/mauve hue on their website, but as you can tell from my swatches it’s actually more of a deep red. I’m not mad at it, but I can see how that might be misleading.

LipLift Max $14.00
Pixi Beauty 20 Years Of Glow

The LipLift Max is a product I haven’t tried yet. It’s a peptide infused lip plumper that claims to nourish as it enhances. This is the shade Petal Ice. I didn’t bother to swatch it because it didn’t really show up on camera. It’s a pretty sheer pink gloss that has a minty scent.

Endless Silky Eye Pen $12.00

The Endless Silky Eye Pen is indeed silky! It glided onto my skin effortlessly. This is the shade BlackNoir, but they have many more to choose from. Including a gold shade! And they’re waterproof!

Eye Reflections Shadow Palette $24.00

The Eye Reflections Shadow Palette shown here is Reflex Light. It contains 12 metallic eyeshadows. They are nicely pigmented and apply and blend beautifully!

You can see the MatteLast Liquid Lip in Berry Beauty and the Endless Silky Eye Pen in BlackNoir in action below. I’ve already swatched the Eye Reflections Shadow Palette in Reflex Light a few months back. You can probably find a photo on my Instagram stories highlights.

Truly CBD Acne Patches

One day while browsing Ulta I stumbled upon these cute CBD Acne Patches from Truly. I’ve tried acne patches in the past and never had any success. But these contain CBD which is a natural anti-inflammatory. So I had to give them a try to see if they were in fact different from the others.

The package contains 36 acne patches. They contain salicylic acid and 5 MG of CBD. The plant shaped patches are a little tricky to peel off. I feel like a round shape would have been much easier. Starting at the base is the easiest way to peel it off. If you reach for the top leaf the other leaves will give you trouble and start to tear. Trust me. Base first. The shape also makes it difficult to cover blemishes. Thankfully mine weren’t so big so they covered my blemishes perfectly. If you have a rather large round blemish that you’re trying to cover, you might have trouble with these. Which is too bad because they do work! My blemishes didn’t disappear over night. However, by morning they weren’t anywhere near as red and inflamed and the pain was gone!

My skin is far from perfect. It’s sensitive and I have rosacea. I don’t deal with breakouts as often as I used to. About once a month I’ll get one two pimples around my chin. They usually don’t bother me so I just let them be. I stick to my usual routine of cleansing, toning and moisturizing. Within a few days I’m good. But once in a while I end up with a stubborn pimple that sets up camp and refuses to leave. It’s nice to have something to help speed up the healing process. These patches do just that.

Overall, I really liked these patches. I wasn’t expecting much since these types of products never work for me. The shape is a little tricky to work with, but the patches do work! Again, blemishes won’t just disappear over night. But by morning the redness had calmed down enough for me to apply makeup and not have a blemish beaming through. I’ll definitely purchase these again.

Have you ever tried acne patches or other spot treatments? What are some of your favorites?
