Earlier in the month I talked about the e.l.f. Chromatic Eyeshadow Palette in Posh Peacock. Now I’m going to talk about Bird of Paradise.
Bird of Paradise contains 7 eyeshadows in both matte and metallic finishes. I appreciate that this palette contains a few more matte shades than Posh Peacock did. While I was more drawn to Posh Peacock, I found Bird of Paradise much easier to work with.
I really love the way both palettes swatched. A few of the darker mattes were a little patchy, but still fairly easy to work with. The metallic shades are gorgeous and so pigmented! Even though I received these palettes back in Summer, I feel like they’re perfect for Fall. All of these shades are giving me major Fall vibes.
You can see a look I created with Bird of Paradise below. For this look I applied the last shade on my lid with a dampened brush, the 2nd and 3rd shades in my crease, the 5th shade to deepen my crease, the 3rd and 5th shades on my lower lash line, and the first shade on the inner corner of my eye. I actually used another shade from another palette for my brow bone. I absolutely love that first shade, but I didn’t feel comfortable applying it on my brow bone.
Overall, I’d have to say I’m very pleased with both palettes. I don’t know if I could pick a favorite now that I’ve had the chance to experiment with them both. I love the looks I created with both palettes. Some of the darker mattes did need a little work between building up and blending, but they were still cooperative.
Which palette is your favorite?
