I’m very picky when it comes to foundation. In fact I only have a handful in my tool box. I’m always excited to try a new foundation, but the chances of me loving it or even liking it are usually pretty slim. Sometimes it’s a love at first try. Others it takes a little getting used to. Remember that Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation? I loved it! But it didn’t agree with my skin. I ended up giving it another try and paired it with a different primer and didn’t experience any irritation afterward! If it’s something I really like you better believe I’ll keep trying. But it doesn’t always end on a positive note.
It Cosmetics products have never caused me any irritation. So I was pretty excited to dig into their new Confidence in a Compact. Have you heard about this? It’s their new full coverage solid serum foundation. This solid serum foundation contains anti-aging hydrolyzed collagen, hyaluronic acid, scalene, antioxidants, and a super ceramide cream that is said to transform your complexion. And it’s SPF 50+. It also claims to be suitable for even the most sensitive skin. I can tell you right now that this is true. At least for me. I can’t say much about the anti-aging claims because I’ve only just started using the foundation. But so far I’m very impressed.
To apply they suggest swirling your brush or the included sponge into the compact. I actually used my fingers and dabbed a bit all over my face. Then I blended it out with the It Cosmetics Heavenly Skin Skin Smoothing Complexion Brush #704. I’ve also tried blending it out with my BeautyBlender with some really nice results. However, the BeautyBlender does kind of water it down a bit. The brush definitely supplies a nice full coverage look. They say a little goes a long way and it really does. So keep that in mind.
Overall, the application was very easy. To me it doesn’t feel like most full coverage foundations I’ve tried. I usually stay away from full coverage because I find them to be too heavy for me. The Confidence in a Compact didn’t feel heavy at all! It was surprisingly lightweight. I had to build up a bit over my problem areas. Actually you can still see a bit of redness poking through because I didn’t want to build up too much. A color corrector would have fixed that, but I wanted to show off the foundation on its own. But for the most part I think it evened everything out rather nicely.
I’m just going to go ahead and say that I love this foundation! I think the only negative thing I can say is that I don’t like having to dip my finger (or brush) into the compact. But I do love the compact itself. It’s simple, but really pretty. It’s nice and sturdy too.
You can see the Confidence in a Compact in action below. I’m wearing the shade Light along with a primer and setting powder. I didn’t use a color corrector or concealer. I also used the Tan shade to lightly contour.
This looks and sounds amazing and I love the convenience of the little compact – perfect for top ups on the go! xx

I agree! It’s definitely convenient. :)
You are so lucky to get IT Cosmetics newest launches to try, Lisa! I wish they are sold on Sephora but I believe it’s only through the Shopping Channel in Canada or their website.

Thank you, Shireen! I truly am grateful for it too. I’ve found so many new favorites and they’re all so gentle on my sensitive skin too.
That’s a bummer! Hopefully they become more easily available to you in the future. :(

This looks and sounds incredible! The shade fair actually looks good! Most brands aren’t great with paler skin tones.

Awww thank you, Steph! <3 Hahaha not every single shade. Remember CP Marshmallow? I looked sickly. :(
It’s great it agrees with your sensitive skin! I have sensitive skin around my eyes and I’m always wary of trying new eye creams and concealers.

My eye area as well as my cheeks are super sensitive. I know the struggle. :( I’m always so happy when a product doesn’t irritate me. It’s like my own little lottery win lol.
Oh yes, the formula does look great! I wish we had It Cosmetics here, but alas…
