Believe it or not I only have a handful of mascaras that I wear. I’ve gotten many samples and purchased a ton of full sized tubes only to toss them aside and rotate the same few over and over again. Either they just didn’t work for me or they damn near injured me. But I guess that’s to be expected when you’re working with something that closely resembles a flail.

That being said, you can imagine my excitement when I find a new mascara that I love. You’d think it would be an easy task since I’m such a simple girl. A little length, a little volume, and a comfortable wand with a brush that won’t take out an eyeball. So yeah, it’s exciting to be able to add a new mascara into my rotation. And the It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara is one fine addition!

Here’s the description from the It Cosmetics website: ‘Imagine lashes so long and full, they appear to have stretched wider and longer before your eyes! Now, you can infuse your lashes with superhero powers in just one coat using Superhero™ mascara. Proprietary Elastic Stretch Technology wraps each individual lash in a volume-boosting, lengthening and ultra-conditioning black cape of power and color that’s clinically shown to give you your strongest, longest, thickest and most defined lashes!

Formulated with powerful peptides and proteins, strengthening biotin, lash-lifting polymers and plumping collagen, this anti-aging mascara will take your lashes to new heights. The innovative formula and Lash-Changing Power Brush work together to coat every lash from base to tips, lifting and separating to create a fuller lash line—no lash is left behind! This super-black mascara is also super-buildable, so lash power is at your fingertips; simply apply more coats to add volume and length.’

Sounds pretty good, eh? Here are my thoughts. Application was easy with the comfortable wand. The brush was just the right size where I could easily apply the mascara ensuring that I did in fact coat the lashes evenly (without injury). I feel that it provided me with the perfect amount of length and volume with the 2 coats I applied. You can see it in action below.

My only issue was that there was a slightly longer bristle at the tip of the brush that stuck out. You can see it in the close-up above. I trimmed it and all was good.

And while we’re on the superhero subject, is anyone going to see Batman v Superman this week? I’ve been waiting a very long time for this. I love me some Superman!

  1. I’ve been looking at this mascara, but have a few too many tubes open to purchase, but it’s on the list!

I don’t get the Superman vs. Batman – aren’t they both ‘good’ guys?

    • It’s a pretty great mascara. A very comfortable wear.

They are the good guys, but I guess Batman just wants to make sure Superman isn’t some out of control maniac especially after tearing up the city fighting General Zod. I think most superheros fight at first because they don’t know they’re both the good guys lol.

  2. Can definitely see the lengthening action in the pics! Looks great! x

  3. Haha I love your first picture! This mascara looks good on new, it seems to give realistic volume and a good amount of length. What I look for in a mascara is length but mostly curl, or at least the ability to hold the curl I created with my curler. I don’t mind volume that much.

    • I thought it was fitting lol. :)

Curl is important too! But for me I always feel like my lashes need the volume. There isn’t much to my natural lashes.

  4. I am excited to see that movie, mostly because Wonderwoman will make an appearance, but I will have to wait until it is available on TV, I guess.
My mascara needs are extensive: Length, volume and holding the curl, all while looking like falsies. Oh, and non.flaking, easy to take off and not leaving my lashes hard to the touch. Maybe that is why I keep trying new formulas over and over again, only to never be satisfied…

    • I’m pretty excited to see Wonderwoman too! :)

It’s so interesting to hear what everyone looks for in a mascara. Easy removal is pretty important too, but I admit that I have a sample of a mascara that is pretty difficult to remove yet I love it so I put up with it.

  5. IT Cosmetics has pretty good mascaras I think or at least from what I’ve read, never tried any though. I do have LOTS of mascaras to go through now but will definitely keep this one in mind. And no, we’re not going to see Batman vs Superman because my husband is not a fan of both, it will definitely be a rental for us. :-(

    • Bummer about the movie! :(

I’ve only ever tried the Superhero. But I do have quite a few open ones myself laying around that I need to use up.

  6. This sounds amazing! I have never tried It Cosmetics, though I now must. :)

  7. I really like the look of the brush!
I don’t know if I’ll go see the movie, because I’m not sure I can see anyone else playing Batman after Christian Bale! ;)
