This is not a new to me palette. I really like posting things as soon as I get them, but that wasn’t an option for me at the time of this purchase. During one of the moves last year I picked this beauty up during a coffee run. I mean who can go to the Starbucks at the mall without going into Sephora? Who?! That’s right. No one! So when I was supposed to be unpacking and settling in I was sipping on my soy latte and buying more stuff to set on top of the mounds of boxes back home. Because priorities.

I think I have most of the Kat Von D palettes now. The Monarch Eyeshadow Palette and the Esperanza Eyeshadow Palette are easily my favorites. Although I definitely get more use out of the Monarch Palette. I love the nice warm shades. The shadows are so nicely pigmented too. You can see from the swatches that a few are a little on the powdery side, but they still applied nicely with very little fallout. Below you can see one of my go-to looks with this palette. One of these days I’ll get around to recreating Kat Von D’s beautiful look.

I applied Vanish on my lid, Killing Jar in my inner crease, Wrath in my mid-outer crease, Tiny Death on my brow bone, Telepathy on the inner corner of my eye, and Disintegration on my lower lash line. I really had a lot of fun with this palette.

Beautiful photos of the palette! Telepathy is so so beautiful. Look at that bright sheen! Love your eye look also. Your eyeliner is perfect! :D What’s on your lips?

  2. I am not much of a platette person, but the packging is great.
On another topic: I like your tattoo! At least the part I could see.
    Is it your only one?

    • Kat’s palettes are the prettiest! I seriously can’t help myself.

Thank you! I have a few actually. I have a small black butterfly above my right ankle, a heart <3 symbol on my ring finger (wedding band), let it be on my left wrist, and a black and red rose just above the let it be.

  3. This is such a pretty palette. To be honest I didn’t start paying attention to the Kat von D line until recently.

I wonder if they still have this at sephora.

  4. I have yet to try anything from Kat Von D but I know the eyeshadow palettes are great quality! I look forward to you creating more looks with this palette, it’s seriously gorgeous!

    • It really is! And I hear you! There are a few orders I’m thinking of placing, but there’s some new things coming out soon so I should probably save for that. The struggle is real lol.

  10. I need to pull this out and use it asap. I loooove the bright pink lips with the warm shades on the eyes. I would never think to pair them together, but I’m definitely going to try it!

  11. This is a pretty palette ~ just look at that beautiful gold shadow!!

I am still lusting after the Shade and Light palette .. I’ve swatched it – many times – and oh, it’s so buttery.

  13. I love those shades on you, what a perfectly neutral glam look. <3 Adds to the lipstick without taking it over. Holy cow, the packaging though. I can see why people buy palettes when they look like that. @_@ The orange on the farthest left (is that Wrath) looks super fun to play with.

    • Thank you, Zovesta! :)

I absolutely LOVE KVD palettes! They’re always the prettiest. It’s her artwork! But the shadows never disappoint either.

Wrath was definitely fun to play with. I was a bit intimidated at first because I never wore orange lol. I’m glad I gave it a chance though because it really is pretty.

      • I’m afraid I hear about her through her makeup, rather than vise versa haha. She does very pretty, intricate tattoos! Orange eyeshadow is so much fun. <3
