Here is my May 2016 Birchbox!

I was pretty excited to see the Juliette Has a Gun Another Oud fragrance included in my box. I received the Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume in my September Birchbox and LOVED it! I remember it being nice and light. It was the perfect scent. This one? Not so much. My first reaction was to gag. Then it made me cough. It’s very strong and unpleasant. And boy does that scent stay with you.

The COOLA® Classic Face Sport SPF 50 White Tea sounds pretty nice. And with the weather getting nicer most of my walks will be done outdoors so a good sunscreen is always nice to have on hand. According to the Birchbox Breakdown it’s SPF 50 and waterproof for up to 80 minutes! They claim it’s formulated specifically for sensitive skin without causing irritation or breakouts. It’s infused with primrose and linseed oils to balance moisture levels and even skin tone. They also mention that the white tea scent smells better than traditional sunscreens, but it smells pretty similar to other sunscreens in my opinion. I’ll definitely give this a try though.

Now let’s talk about the ModelCo Lip Lacquer in Morocco. According to the Birchbox Breakdown these lacquers provide rich high pigment color plus major shine in just one swipe. Nope. In my swatch up there I had to go over it a few times just to get it to show up. The high shine part I get since it’s a gloss. It also claims to be a non-sticky formula and while it’s not overly sticky it is a little sticky. It also has a lingering fruity scent which I don’t really care for. With all that being said, it’s still a very pretty gloss. I’ll probably work it into a look later on this week, but I doubt I’ll be hanging onto it.

The Davroe Ends Repair is a leave-in treatment for split ends. It prevents split ends from coming back by strengthening hair with rice and wheat proteins. I’m pretty excited to give this a try. And it smells nice!

The GOLDFADEN MD™ Doctor’s Scrub sounds like a nice exfoliating scrub. It contains antioxidant rich seaweed and organic red tea extract. This also smells nice.

It’s not an overly exciting box, but there are a few items I can’t wait to dig into.

  1. Ah, seems like a good box with lots of fun stuff to try out :-) Too bad about the lip gloss – I am anti-sticky for sure when it comes to lip glosses.

  2. The products are packaged nicely and the lip lacquer is a pretty color. Glad you’re happy with most of the items :) https://themakeuptrain.com/

  3. The Coola sunscreen sounds interesting! I have their makeup setting spray with SPF and I really like it. When I spend some time outside I really need a heavy-duty sunscreen because the San Diego sun is very brutal. I’ve gotten sunburnt despite wearing regular SPF30 sunscreen many times :/

    • It really does! I’ll be testing it out this weekend. And I remember your review on that. I still have my sample. I don’t remember if I tested it out or not… time to revisit I guess!

  4. The scrub sounds too good by the ingredients :)

  6. I like the sound of the sunscreen! The perfume sounds awful – it’s always the ones that you don’t like that linger! xx

  12. This is the second time I’m reading about COOLA, I read about the lip balm on Kim’s blog the other day and she had a great experience with the brand too. I hope you do a review on it? Would love to know how it reacts to your sensitive skin.

    • I definitely will! I’ve heard a lot about the brand too and actually have quite a few samples of theirs laying around. I addressed my properly testing samples in my new post. I know you asked about another sample too last month. I promise to get to it! :)
