Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid in Fuchsia Ecstacy

Purchased By Me
I picked these Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquids up during that buy one get one free sale I talked about. There weren’t many shades to choose from so I grabbed the only 3 that were available. First up is Fuchsia Ecstacy.
When I got these I did something I never really do. I didn’t look up any reviews. If I had I would have known that these so-called mattes are anything but. I mean seriously there is NOTHING matte about these! I don’t get it. Maybe I’m missing something? Aside from that it’s actually not a bad lipstick. The applicator was extremely easy to work with. Application was easy even with such a bold shade. It applied nice and evenly and is very pigmented. It’s not transfer or smudge-proof. It also has a fairly strong perfume scent which I didn’t notice until after I had applied it. I didn’t notice it too much after about 1/2 hour or so. I really don’t care for perfume scent in my lip products or any products for that matter. But once it died down it was a surprisingly comfortable wear.
The shade is really pretty. Unfortunately it’s just not what I expected it to be. And because of that I probably won’t purchase any more of them. But I’ll definitely use up the ones I have because they really are pretty and surprisingly comfortable. You can see Fuchsia Ecstacy in action below!
See that shine? Definitely not matte! And yes, that’s dye on the side of my face. My husband dyes my hair and he likes to be very thorough. That includes dying half of my face and forehead. Hah!
I have no idea why these have the word ‘matte’ on them because they are anything but matte. I gave these a miss because of that reason alone.

I hear that! I was bummed about it, but they really are nice lipsticks otherwise.
Omg that’s a bummer they aren’t ACTUALLY matte haha. Why do companies create products and then put false names on them? So crazy! That’s too bad because the colours look really pretty!

I know, right? Matte issues aside, I agree that they are pretty!

Hmm it looks like they put the word Matte on the tube just so that they would sell! That’s a weird choice… It does look quite pretty though, and this shade is really beautiful on you.

I actually saw these in store and loved the look of them, I swatched them on my hand and then 20 minutes later.. they were still glossy! I got really confused, and thought “hey aren’t these meant to be matte’. I didn’t buy them, but I heard from a friend it takes them ages to dry down to a matte finish, but apparently they do dry down?
Oh wow! Mine definitely never fully dried down. That glossiness stuck around lol. I was pretty confused myself.
Yeah- these definitely aren’t matte, but they are pretty nonetheless!
