The Body Shop Piñita Colada

One of my favorite mixed drinks is a piña colada. Back home I used to visit the supermarket bakery for piña colada muffins at least once a month. And when I moved to Jersey I used to visit this lovely little vegan bakery that made piña colada cupcakes! They were heavenly, but were only available for like a month or two out of the year. I’d send my husband to get me one every day they were available. Obviously I love me some pineapple and coconut! It’s a combination I just can’t pass up. In any form! Like this nifty duo from The Body Shop for example!

Piñita Colada Shower Gel
I love a good shower gel. I found this one to smell more like pineapple than pineapple and coconut combined. It’s definitely not a bad thing. It still smelled all kinds of tropical, but I would have loved to smell the two scents together. It lathered up real nice and was gentle on my sensitive skin.

Piñita Colada Body Butter
The body butter is definitely my favorite of the two. This one smells more like a piña colada, but it’s a lighter scent. Which for me is a good thing since I slather body butter/lotion all over myself. Because of that I prefer a scents like this which are pleasant without being overwhelming. I was actually surprised at how moisturizing this was. It absorbed quickly and left my skin feeling incredibly soft. It claims to be a 24 hour body moisturizer. While I didn’t time it, my skin still felt moisturized and soft after I woke up and throughout the day. And you can see from the photos how thick and creamy the texture is!

I might not be able to visit my old spots for piña colada treats anymore, but I can always sip a piña colada while wearing the Piñita Colada Body Butter. And if I close my eyes and try really hard I might be able to trick myself into believing that I’m laying on a tropical island somewhere far, far away from here. Maybe being fed grapes by The Rock. Because it’s my day dream after all!

So if you like piña coladas (I’m so not going to bust out in song, I promise) keep a look out for this refreshing collection!

  1. I love the sound of the body butter more than the shower gel because I prefer a coconut scent to pineapple! I have that song in my head now! xx

  3. My dad would love these. He is from El Salvador so he is a tropical lover. Anything from foods to smells he loves. He is also a lotion, soap, cologne junkie, so he’d probably use this. I’ll have to show him next time we’re out.

  5. I have to be careful about the scented shower gels and butters that I use, but both of these products sound so lovely. Coconut and pineapple, as scents or as flavors, are always so refreshing and delicious. Reading about your former piña colada spots is giving me the itch to bake up some cupcakes myself!

    • Oh I know! It took everything in me to not walk into my kitchen and make pina colada muffins. And I so wish I had one of those cupcakes right now!

  6. I loveeeee Pina Colada so these sounds right up my alley! Shame that the shower gel is more pineapple scent, don’t think I’ll be a fan of it.

    • Me too! I agree that it would have been so much nicer if it smelled like coconut too. But I’m still digging it either way!

  7. That sounds so yummy! I’m using two tropical shower gels these days, one is creamy coconut and the other is coconut-pineapple, this one I could drink out of the bottle, lol!
