Wet n Wild Goth-O-Graphic Collection

Purchased By Me
A few weeks back I was thinking that Wet n Wild should be coming out with their Spring Collection soon. Then I saw the promo photos for the Goth-O-Graphic Collection and excitement set in. It looked even cooler than their other collections! But maybe I’m just a sucker for skulls and metallics? Once the collection was released online I purchased the entire set. I really only had my eyes on both of the MegaGlo Highlighting Powders, the MegaGlo Loose Highlighting Powder, 1 MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Eyeshadow, and 1 MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Metallic Lipstick. But I figured another $10 and I could just have the whole set. I mean even if only half of the products worked out for me it would be worth the money. Well, I’m sad to say that none of these products worked out for me. And since Wet n Wild doesn’t offer refunds, I’m stuck with a box of useless products.
I’m so bummed. I honestly don’t think this Spring Season in a Box is worth $39.99. The quality just isn’t the same as their previous collections. I’ll break it down by product.
MegaGlo Highlighting Powder $4.99
- Purple Ashes
- White Raven
These two beauties are what I was most excited to get my hands on. The skull packaging is too cute! However, I found them to be very sheer. My swatches are heavily built up. They’re not all that bad, but they’re nothing like the other MegaGlo Highlighting Powders I’ve tried in the past. I know a lot of their products can be very hit or miss, but I’ve always felt their MegaGlo Highlighting Powders were pretty solid. These are just ok.
MegaGlo Loose Highlighting Powder $6.99
- Moon Tears
In my opinion the MegaGlo Loose Highlighting Powder is the only winner from the entire collection. I still don’t think this one product alone is worth paying the $39.99 for the box so I’m still a little bitter about that. If you spot this in the store I’d definitely scoop it up if I were you. It offers a really nice glow. A little more subtle, but it can easily be built up. You also get quite a bit of product for the price. It’s a really great buy.
MegaGlo Highlighting Stick $6.99
- Hell-O Darkness
The MegaGlo Highlighting Stick is a beautiful shade! It’s fairly creamy, but it doesn’t really apply evenly. It’s not too big of a deal because you can always use your finger tips to blend it out.
MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Eyeshadow $4.99
- Goth Tears
- Mystic Dreamer
- Nyctophilia
- Pure Intension
The MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Eyeshadows really bummed me out. I had my eye on Mystic Dreamer so that’s the one I tried first. It’s a gorgeous shade, but it doesn’t apply evenly at all. I tried to quickly blend it out with my finger tips as I usually do when working with liquid eyeshadows. But no matter how much blending I did it was super glittery in some areas and super sheer in others. I suppose these would work ok if you were applying a bit to the center of your lid for a halo type effect. But if you’re going for an all over lid shade you might be disappointed. And don’t even waste your time with Nyctophilia. The other shades at least swatched nicely. This one didn’t.
MegaLiner Metallic Liquid Eyeliner $3.99
- Black Butterfly
- Pink Coffin
- Skull Prayer
The MegaLiner Metallic Liquid Eyeliners are super pretty! I bet these could make for some cute little accents or look nice layered on top of your traditional liner. My problem? It would be nice if the brush didn’t look like this. Seriously, what am I supposed to do with that? What kind of a line am I going to make with that? Not a precise one I can tell you that!
MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Metallic Lipstick $4.99
- Death To Unicorns
- Gunmetal Heart
- Pastel Grunge
- Wicked Pink
Finally we have the MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Metallic Lipsticks. I’ve tried some of their metallic lipsticks in the past and they were pretty awesome! They were nicely pigmented and they applied nice and evenly. These? They did this weird thing when I tried to swatch and apply them. It would bead up and the beads wouldn’t spread out. In my swatches I had to run the wand back and forth trying to break up the beads and maybe get a decent enough swatch. It wasn’t happening. I don’t think I’ve ever had this happen before. I also detected a bit of a scent. It wasn’t vanilla or floral. It was rather funky. It wasn’t strong, but it was definitely noticeable.
The look I created with these products was awful. I ended up removing everything and did a quick face before leaving the house. I will definitely use the MegaGlo Loose Highlighting Powder in a look later on this week. For now I’ll just leave you with these photos, swatches, and my thoughts.
Overall, the Wet n Wild Goth-O-Graphic Collection was a huge miss for me. The packaging is all kinds of cute and I’m even digging the product names. However, the quality isn’t what I’ve come to expect from Wet n Wild. Their previous collections have been huge hits for me. I may end up with a dud here and there, but I’ve never ended up with a box full of duds. Well, the MegaGlo Loose Highlighting Powder isn’t a dud. I do recommend that. And maybe the MegaGlo Highlighting Stick if those types of highlighters are your thing.
Have you tried anything from the Wet n Wild Goth-O-Graphic Collection? What are your thoughts?

I love Wet N wild products AND anything with skulls on it so I have got to get my hands on some of this ASAP! What a cute collection!
They sure do have a fair amount of winners lately. The skull packaging really is cute. I just wish the products performed better.
Yikes! These sounds so disappointing! Thank you for the honest review!

It really was a huge let down. I try to keep things positive around here, but sometimes things disappoint you so much that you gotta vent haha!
That skull stamp is wicked!! Love it!! – http://www.domesticgeekgirl.com

Isn’t it cool? :)
I am trying to be really good when it comes to purchasing makeup lately, but nothing from this line REALLY stood out of to me, besides the adorable packaging. I did end up purchasing Pure Intension Liquid Eyeshadow and LOVED IT. I thought it was so so pretty. I also purchased White Raven, but am not blown away. Cute collection – skulls theme is a nice break from what’s been trendy lately.

Yes same here. I’m really bummed that I caved anyway and for this? It really is cute. I just wish the products performed better.
What a disappointment! The concept looks so good too. Maybe they’re rushing these products out instead of doing proper product development. Also, why wouldn’t they just “borrow” from their previous proven formulas and just tweak the colours slightly, especially their highlighters which are typically great?

Great points! I just don’t get how certain products can be consistently good and then… this? I feel like maybe they focused more on the packaging than the actual formula. It’s like ok it looks good, but can I use it?
Moon Tears looks super pretty, but I wonder what’s up with the formulas of this collection… Nevertheless, great post!
