Swatches: Highlight, Contour

I still have quite a few Valentine’s Day products to post, but I have some older items that need to be posted first. Like these Wet n Wild MegaCushion Contour and Highlight products that I purchased back when they first hit the shelves. I still see displays in some stores, but the contour and highlight products sell out pretty fast. So I’d definitely pick one up if you spot it. Otherwise it might not be there the next time.

I think the packaging is really cute! Be careful opening up the containers though because it might get a little messy. I’d definitely lay it over a towel or something. Otherwise it might drip onto your vanity or wherever you do your makeup. The highlight wasn’t so bad, but the contour was a little more liquidy.

I only swiped once in my swatches. I used my fingers rather than the included sponge. The sponge just seems like it would make for an awkward application. They’re nicely pigmented in the swatches, but they’re much more subtle on the face. I used a contour brush to apply the contour and my fingers to apply the highlight. I didn’t go too crazy building up because I really liked the more subtle look. They applied and blended beautifully.

I love both of these products! I was a little skeptical at first, but they turned out to be pretty great. I really like the smooth application and the nice subtle look. These will definitely get some use and you’ll probably see them in some upcoming posts. You can see both products in action below.

The packaging is really cute! I’m not the biggest fan of cushion products, though.

  3. How cute are these?! When I saw the image on my feed, I thought these were Korean products!
I still don’t get the cushion hype though. I got a Korean cushion foundation to try – nothing about the sponge delivery system makes the foundation perform any different. *Shrug* I guess makeup companies need to “innovate” to keep money flowing! ;)

    • Oh I know what you mean! And I don’t even get how it would work with these products really. Because it’s not like you’re going to pat it all over your face! But I do like the product itself.

  4. Omggg I need to get my hands on these!!! I haven’t seen them anywhere though! You look gorgeous❤️

  12. I’m definitely loving the subtle look, Lisa! Liquid products usually look very natural on the skin, which I really like.

  13. The result is really pretty! Subtle but still defining the cheek quite well. I like the idea of a liquid contour, I can imagine it being a lot easier to blend that the cream ones that come in compacts.
