Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Heathers

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Heathers

This is my very first Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick! I was so excited to place my first order that I couldn’t decide on a single lipstick. I eventually decided on Heathers. It’s a gorgeous lipstick, but it wasn’t what I was expecting. Honestly, it looks nothing like the swatch that originally sold me on this shade. What I got was something a little more vampy. I probably should have known by looking at the tube, but that’s not always accurate. Oh well. These things happen.

I’m digging the name Heathers. I remember watching the movie many moons ago. The lipstick itself is really pretty and definitely unique in my collection as I don’t own many vampy shades. It was very creamy and fairly easy to apply. It was a comfortable wear and it was definitely long lasting. And it matches my hairs! Take a look!

I’ll definitely be placing another order for a few other shades. Something that’s a little more colorful and upbeat! Heathers did grow on me and I’ll probably hold onto it. I’m just not sure that I love it yet.

Update and a selfie

Remember when I said I would post a look of me using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in Gleam? Well, here you go!

I’m wearing Crushed Pearl on the inner corners of my eye, cheek bone, nose, and cupid’s bow. I think only the inner corners of my eye and cheek bone are visible in the photo. But you definitely get the idea. I’m seriously loving this kit.

I’ve been sprucing up the website a bit here and there. Last night I made some changes to the about page. I wanted to personalize it a bit more so I added some photos and updated the info. I also updated the recipes page. Those recipes are all from my old blog so they’re not new. I still have a few more older recipes to import so those should be up within the week. I’m working on adding some new recipes very soon. I have a ton written in my planner and on my phone. As soon as I get some free time I’ll rework them, photograph them, and get them posted.

I hope you’re all having a wonderful week.

Swatches: Hard Candy, Mimosa, Starburst, Crushed Pearl

Swatches (Dampened): Hard Candy, Mimosa, Starburst, Crushed Pearl

This is my very first Anastasia Beverly Hills order! I do own a few of the ABH brow products that I purchased from Sephora, but I’ve never ordered directly from the company before. So this is pretty exciting. I ended up ordering this gorgeous Glow Kit and a liquid lipstick (don’t look so surprised lol) which I’ll be reviewing later on.

Before I get started I’d like to mention how impressed I am with the speedy shipping. I received my order 2 days after placing it! When you order something new and exciting it’s pretty great to be able to hold it in your hands so soon after ordering.

This Glow Kit is gorgeous! It contains 4 metallic powder highlighters – Hard Candy, Mimosa, Starburst, and Crushed Pearl. They can be used on your face, eyes, and body. The website states that if you apply these with a dampened makeup brush you can achieve more glow. I posted both dry and dampened swatches so that you can see for yourself. These really do come to life when dampened. They’re gorgeous as is, but it really does pop more when dampened.

These highlighters were incredibly soft. They swatched beautifully! Unfortunately, I don’t have a face swatch to share with you just yet. I did use this Glow Kit in a look last week and loved it, but I wasn’t too crazy about the photos. While I was working on the new theme I made the mistake of looking back on some of my older posts. Let’s just say that the very last thing this blog needs is another awful selfie. Yikes! I promise to get one up soon though!
