Swatch

I’ve been talking about the Shop Hush app and Bad Habit products since late last year. Ever since I heard about it I’ve been checking the app every single day. I’m not that obsessed. I swear. It’s just that the app has so much more to offer. Like claiming a daily reward that you can use for purchases later. They also have a feed similar to Instagram where you can post photos and interact with other fellow beauty lovers. Shipping is free and surprisingly super fast considering they ship from the West Coast. I usually receive my order within 2 days!

Anyway, one day I happened to log in and saw that they had new Liquified Matte Lipsticks. Y’all know how much I love my liquid lipsticks. So I ordered one to try out. I had some points to use up and with free shipping it didn’t cost me anything.

The packaging is pretty cool. A little bulky though. I did detect a light chemical scent, but it wasn’t bothersome. It applied so easily! I didn’t have any issues trying to even it out. Once it dried down it still felt a little tacky. It wasn’t transfer-proof, but it was still long lasting. After about 8 hours or so it faded to a nice even stain. I can’t really complain because it was super comfortable. I’m really digging this lipstick. The shade is my perfect shade and it’s perfect for Fall. I’ve been reaching for it so often that I had to move it to my most reached for items drawer.

You can see the Bad Habit Liquified Matte Lipstick in Trophy Life in action below.

Overall, I’d have to say that I’m very impressed with Trophy Life. After wearing it a few times I caved and bought a few more to try out. I opted for some of the darker shades for Fall.

The newest Bad Habit Palettes are dupes for the Huda Beauty Obsessions Eyeshadow Palettes. There’s actually a really great deal on the Shop Hush app where you can purchase all 4 palettes for just $30.00! It truly is an amazing deal, but the only one I had my eye on was the After Hours Palette. I’m a sucker for mauves.

The Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette is only about $17.00 more and I’m sure it’s worth every cent. However, I had points burning a hole in my pocket so the moment the After Hours Palette was restocked I placed my order. Making this baby free! How could I resist?

The Bad Habit After Hours Palette contains 9 eyeshadows. Featuring 6 smooth, pigmented mattes and 3 buttery shimmers. It’s a really nice sized palette. Like the other Bad Habit palettes I’ve purchased the shadows are housed in a sturdy cardboard package that includes a mirror. The first thing I noticed was a bit of a chemical scent. I don’t remember any of the others smelling like this. It was pretty strong when I first opened it. After a few uses I barely notice it anymore. Just figured I’d mention it.

The shadows are exactly what I’ve come to expect from Bad Habit. They’re surprisingly pigmented. The shimmers truly are buttery. I didn’t experience as much fallout with these shimmers. They all applied and blended beautifully. Even the mattes. I love how their palettes always contain a brow bone shade so that you can easily create a full look using only one palette.

You can see a look I created with the Bad Habit After Hours Palette below. I used Clutch on my lid, Flushed and Cabernet in my crease, Powder Room on my brow bone, and Hickey on my lower lash line.

Bad Habit After Hours Palette

Overall, I’d have to say that this is a really great palette. While I went a tad bold with my look, you could just as easily tone it down a bit and create a neutral look with or without a pop of color. I’m really tempted to buy the other 3 palettes, but I really don’t need them. I already have so many similar shades. But their palettes are usually nicely done and very hard to resist.

Late last year I posted swatches of the Bad Habit Athena Palette on my Instagram. I’ve used the palette quite a bit since and thought I had reviewed it for the blog. It turns out that I haven’t yet. I really have to get back to a routine because I feel like I’m all over the place lately. Anyway, I probably just confused it with one of the other Bad Habit palettes I did review. Oops?

I think the Athena Palette is my favorite so far. It contains 18 beautiful eyeshadows with 4 unique textures. Including 8 mattes, 6 buttery pearled shimmers, 3 shade shifting duo-chrome toppers, and 1 glitter. They’re all very nicely pigmented. Some of the mattes did require a bit of building up, but they built up beautifully. The shades all compliment each other beautifully and you can easily create a number of looks with this one palette. I can see it working beautifully year round too.

They all applied and blended effortlessly. I didn’t use the glitter though because glitter just isn’t my thing. Just figured I’d throw that out there. I applied the shimmers with a dampened brush and gently pat the shadow onto my lid. I’ve never had any issue with application this way. There is a bit of fallout though. There were specks of shimmer on my face throughout the day. It wasn’t much so I didn’t find it to be bothersome. Other than that I found this palette to be wonderful and I can’t put it down!

You can see a look I created with the bad Habit Athena Palette below. This is actually my go-to look with this palette. I’ve gotten many compliments. And somehow every time I recreate the look it turns out better than the last. For this look I’m wearing Epic on my lid, Valour and Justice in my crease, a little Lore thrown in, and Purity on my brow bone.

Bad Habit Athena Palette

Overall, I’d have to say that this palette is a winner. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the quality is there! Don’t overlook it because of the $12.00 price tag. The way I see it that’s just a bonus. If you check out anything from Bad Habit, I highly suggest the Athena Palette. Unless of course you’re not a fan of shimmers. Because this palette contains quite a few of them and I did experience a bit of fallout. However, I wouldn’t say it was a shimmer-fest or anything. Use a nice tacky primer and dampen your brush a bit and you should eliminate most of that.
