And now for the piece I’d like to title the palette I didn’t need, but bought anyway. It’s lilac and y’all know that I’m a sucker for purples.

The ColourPop Lilac You A Lot Palette contains 9 eyeshadows in both matte and metallic finishes. The deeper mattes look a little dry in my swatches. Thankfully they applied so much nicer than they swatched. In fact they all applied and blended beautifully. I rarely have issues with their shadows so I’m not at all surprised. The shades all compliment each other beautifully. I do wish there was a nice base shade included. Although I guess it would be a bit much to keep including one in each palette they release. And they seriously have one in every color of the rainbow. But that would be my only issue with this palette.

Like with a few of their other palettes, 4 of the shades are labeled ‘not intended for use in immediate eye area.’ But I see everyone else slapping them shades on so I just go with it. I do try my best not to get it into my eyes though. I haven’t experienced any issues so far and my eyes can be sensitive. I just thought I’d mention it because I didn’t even notice those labels until I was a few palettes in.

You can see a look I created with the Lilac You A Lot Palette below. I used the shades Imagine That, Filtered, Wake Me, and Iffy. I used a shadow from another palette for my brow bone.

Overall, I’d have to say that I love this palette. But I think I’ve been playing it safe. I’m thinking about purchasing the yellow and green palettes. Maybe even the blue. Even though I know I have no business wearing any of those shades. Have you tried any of them? Let me know your thoughts!

I know what you must be thinking. Another ColourPop palette? What can I say? I’m weak when it comes to their cute little palettes. But who can’t use a good neutral palette?

The Going Coconuts Palette really is the cutest little neutral palette. It contains 9 eyeshadows including 3 metallics and 6 mattes. They’re all nicely pigmented and applied and blended beautifully! Even the darker brown shades and those shades usually give me trouble. I’m not really surprised though. Their shadows hardly ever give me any problems. I truly do love the formula.

For a small neutral palette, I can easily create quite a few looks with it. Without having to reach for another palette. You can see a look I created with the Going Coconuts Palette below.

For this look I used the shades Shredded, Palm Reader, Coolada, Shell Ya, and Nutty.

Overall, I’d have to say this is a beautiful palette! While the colorful palettes mostly catch my eye, I can definitely appreciate a nice neutral palette. This one was nicely put together. I’m sure most of us have many of these shades already, but it does include at least one unique shade. Get Crackin’ is the prettiest brown with shimmer! I’m really drawn to these types of shadows. I’d like to see more of these.

Did you purchase the Going Coconuts Palette? What’s your favorite neutral palette?

I’ve been doing lots of work behind the scenes. I cleaned up my sidebar. I added a few new sections. Midwest Kitchen will feature new recipes, meal ideas, tips and tricks. Maybe even new food finds or the occasional treat share. I can’t take credit for this. A friend of mine kindly suggested it and I really loved the idea. Spotlight will feature new products, swatches, cool finds, or even just songs I’m loving at the moment. I might even throw in a rant. If you know me personally then you know I can be very ranty. I’m going to try and update these daily or at the very least a few times a week. So check back from time to time to see what’s new.

I also changed up the footer on my posts. I sectioned it off to display info on products mentioned in the post. I also added a look section where I list other products worn. I’m not going to lie, I tend to wear the same stuff quite often. However, I do change it up from time to time. Especially if I’m testing out a new product. I just thought it might be helpful. I usually only post one or two looks to go with my reviews. This way you get to see when and how I’m using these products again. And maybe see what products I really love. You’ll see ColourPop a lot. That’s for sure.

Speaking of ColourPop, remember when I said I was going to stop buying their palettes? Well, that was a lie. Not that there’s anything wrong with their palettes. They’re easily some of my favorites. The problem is I have so many! They all start to look the same after a while and I’m sure I own every shade they’ve ever made. Yet here they are with their millions of palettes named after various colors, fruits, and animals and I go running to scoop them all up. Because who doesn’t need a turkey palette? Seriously, ColourPop, don’t get any ideas haha!

Anyway, the Smoke Show Palette really caught my eye. I’m not one to shy away from color, but grays and blacks intimidate me. I always feel like my look turns muddy. But I caved and bought the palette because it was cute and I thought it might be fun to experiment with. The Smoke Show Palette contains 9 eyeshadows including 3 metallics and 6 mattes. They are nicely pigmented and applied and blended beautifully! I don’t think my look turned out muddy, but I did reach for a brown shade from another palette to tone it down a bit. You can see a look I create with the Smoke Show Palette below.

ColourPop Smoke Show Palette

Overall, I’d have to say I love the palette. You could very easily create a few looks without reaching for another palette. I personally feel more comfortable adding another shade, but it really isn’t necessary. My favorite shades would have to be Ignite and Night Dream. I’ll probably get the most use out of these two.

Did you purchase the Smoke Show Palette? What about any of ColourPop’s other palettes? It seems they are coming out with a new one every week. They have to run out of colors/food/objects eventually.
