Y’all know that I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with ColourPop. For the most part I truly love their products. I love how much they’ve expanded. So when they finally introduced a foundation I just had to try it.

They claim that their No Filter Natural Matte Foundation is oil free with buildable full coverage that is formulated with soft blurring pigments. Giving you a natural matte finish. Sounds amazing, huh? I love how easy it was to select a shade. I went with Light 60 which is suitable for light skin tones with peachy undertones. I did feel like I had to work a little quickly while applying it. I didn’t feel rushed or anything, but it did feel like it dried a little quicker than my go-to foundations. It took a little work blending it out, but once blended it looked pretty amazing! For like an hour. Then it started to break up and looked incredibly cakey. In fact when my husband came home from work I asked him how it looked. He said it looked nice, but it was cakey. He asked me what happened because my skin never looks like that. I was crushed. I really wanted to love this. It felt great on my skin, it did a great job covering my redness, and it didn’t cause any irritation. But the negatives definitely outweigh the positives here.

Overall, I’m going to have to say this is a hard pass for me. In fact if I could return it I would. Unfortunately ColourPop doesn’t accept returns so I’m stuck with it. I’ve tested this with a few different primers and even tried mixing it with a little moisturizer. No matter what I did it started breaking up after just one hour. I’ve had much cheaper foundations perform better than this.

ColourPop Orange You Glad? Palette

Swatches: Sunkiss’d, Tangerine Dreams, Mimosa Mami, Ya Peel Me?

ColourPop released the Orange You Glad? Palette just before we left for our vacation. I thought it would be perfect for Fall so I was debating on ordering it beforehand in case it sold out. I decided to hold off because I didn’t want it sitting at the post office for a few weeks. Thankfully it was still available when we got back. And since there were more new releases I treated myself a little more. It is my birth month after all.

The Orange You Glad? Palette contains 9 eyeshadows. They claim all shades are brand new. I’m sure many of us have similar shades already, but the palette is still cute. And it’s nice to know that they are newer shades. It contains 6 mattes, 2 metallics, and 1 pressed glitter. 4 of these shades are pressed pigments which they claim are not intended for immediate eye area. Of course I didn’t realize that until after I had slathered my whole eye area in said shades. Thankfully I didn’t experience any issues. Not that I ever do experience any issues with their shadows. And my eyes are pretty sensitive.

I know this was meant to be more of a Summer palette, but it looks and feels more Fall friendly to me. I’ll be wearing this a lot throughout the season. You can see a look I created with the Orange You Glad? Palette below.

Overall, I’d have to say that I love this palette. I’m never disappointed with ColourPop’s palettes so it’s no surprise that I love this one too. The shadows are nicely pigmented and apply and blend beautifully. And it’s only $12.00! I keep telling myself that I need to slow down on the palette purchases, but somehow I end up coming here to talk about yet another palette.

Have you purchased the Orange You Glad? Palette? What palette are you loving lately?

I do have lots of new stuff I want to share, but first I want to publish some of my older drafts. I purchased the ColourPop Ultra Metallic Lip in Flitter earlier this year. After seeing it in action in a Facebook group I knew that I needed it. I don’t wear a lot of metallics, but I can’t pass up a pretty one. Especially not one that gives off some rose gold vibes.

It applied nicely and fairly evenly. I did have to work at it a bit. It felt pretty comfortable and wasn’t overly drying. It’s a really beautiful shade. What I like most about it is how wearable it is. I’m definitely not one to shy away from bold shades (not lately anyway), but I can appreciate the more wearable shades. Wearable and all it can still glam up even the simplest look. You can see the ColourPop Ultra Metallic Lip in Flitter in action below.

It’s a good thing I purchased it when I did because it doesn’t appear to be on the website anymore. I’m not sure if it’s been discontinued or maybe I’m missing it. I guess this is why you post things as soon as you get them. Unfortunately I’ve been very busy. I’m really trying to be better with my timing though.

Have you tried any of ColourPop’s metallic lip shades? Which one is your favorite?
