I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with ColourPop, but I have to admit that their holiday collections never disappoint. When I first saw photos of their Holiday 2018 Collection I was pretty excited. It was just so colorful! It really caught my eye. Well, I should say the Flying Colours Liquid Lipstick Vault caught my eye. Their lip products are some of my favorites so for me this was a must have item. I still waited on swatches to ensure the quality was good, but I couldn’t find many. So I ended up buying it as soon as it launched and hoped for the best.

The Flying Colours Liquid Lipstick Vault contains 14 Liquid Lipsticks including 7 Ultra Glossy Lips, 3 Ultra Matte Lips, 2 Ultra Satin Lips, and 2 Ultra Metallic Lips. They all come in limited edition packaging which consists of holographic caps and sparkle type designs on the tube. It looks like a rainbow with the placement of the shades in the outer packaging! I think this is easily one of their prettiest holiday sets.

So far I have worn 7 of these. The glosses are so pretty! They smell like vanilla! My favorites are Dreamaaholic and Paper Moon. The metallics are a little more textured than some of the others I’ve tried. Morning Glory was fairly comfortable, but it did get a little flakey after eating. It’s a really pretty shade though. Of all the mattes Skyfall is my favorite. It’s nice and lightweight, but can be a little drying. This also left behind a bit of a stain after removal. Pitter Ponder is really pretty, but it was tricky applying. I had to work at evening it out and it still looked a little streaky afterward. This would have to be my least favorite lipstick of the bunch. I don’t hate it or anything. It’s a very pretty shade. I’m just not sure how much use it’ll get. You can see the 7 shades I have tested below.

I decided to crop the photos this way so that you can see the shimmer in the glosses and overall application of each lipstick much better. I know they’re not the most flattering photos given that you can see my double chin and all. Maybe just focus on the lipsticks? They really are pretty!

Overall, I’m very happy with the Flying Colours Liquid Lipstick Vault. I absolutely love it! Do I think it’s a must have item? Only if you’re a ColourPop Liquid Lipstick fan like me. If that’s the case I think you’ll love it. Otherwise maybe try a few of the single shades. Or one of the smaller Lip Bundles. Those are pretty cute too.

Remember when I was complaining about missing out on the Ooh La La! Palette? I finally got it and at a great price too! Sometime last week one of my friends was talking about placing yet another ColourPop order. She has a serious problem haha! I suggested she wait because they should be coming out with their Holiday Collection soon. And sure enough the very next day they mentioned it on their Instagram. So when I placed my holiday order I scooped up the Ooh La La! Palette for just $9.60! Talk about luck.

This palette is definitely my new favorite from ColourPop. I love all of the pinks and purples. They compliment each other beautifully! It’s a nice balance of mattes and metallics. They are all incredibly pigmented. They apply and blend beautifully. At first glance it might seem like there aren’t many color combinations you can use, but that’s not the case at all. I’ve already created quite a few looks. It’s definitely more on the bold side, but it can just as easily be toned down a bit.

My first time using the palette I decided to attempt a cut crease. I don’t know why especially since it’s something that has never worked for me in the past. However, I felt like I did much better this time around. I first posted a look on my Instagram stories and joked how I wouldn’t be able to replicate it again for the blog. Thankfully that wasn’t the case. I really love how my look turned out. I know it’s not perfect, but it’s much better than my hundreds of failed attempts. I actually feel comfortable sharing this one. You can see my look below.

For this look I used Soft Core and Poodle in my crease, Caddy to darken my crease, Tickled on my lid and inner corner of my eye with a dampened brush, and another shade from another palette for my brow bone. I used a combination of Caddy and Poodle for my lower lash line.

I decided to share another more wearable look. For this one I used Soft Core and Poodle in my crease, Trove on my outer crease/lid and lower lash line, Moon Struck on my lid, Tickled on the inner corner of my eye, and another shade from another palette for my brow bone.

ColourPop Ooh La La! Palette

Overall, I’d have to say this palette is great! I absolutely love it and I’m so happy I was able to finally add it to my collection. As far as palettes go this is definitely high up on my favorites list. In fact you might just hear about it again in my 2018 Favorites.

Have you tried the Ooh La La! Palette? Did you purchase anything from ColourPop’s Holiday Collection?

Swatch

You know what my problem is with ColourPop? They come out with new stuff so often that I find myself waiting before placing an order. Because I just know that as soon as I place my order something new and even more exciting will be released right after. Like when I ordered the Give It To Me Straight Palette and then like a week later they released the Ooh La La! Palette. Which is currently sold out so it looks like I missed out on that one. This happens to me all the time!

I did manage to scoop up the Ultra Matte Lipstick in Shay Day when I ordered the Give It To Me Straight Palette. So at least I didn’t miss out on that. This lipstick is part of a collaboration between Shayla and ColourPop. I have no idea who Shayla is, but the lipstick and packaging is gorgeous and for that I needed to make it mine. That and I thought it would compliment the palette nicely.

Shay Day is described as a vibrant violet. Like many of my other Ultra Matte Lipsticks it applied nicely and evenly. It was a tad drying, but it wasn’t bothersome. For the most part it did make for a comfortable wear. It’s very pretty and perfect for Fall. You can see Shay Day in action below.

Shay Day also comes in a lip bundle along with another Ultra Matte Lip and an Ultra Glossy Lip. I had shades similar to both so I just settled on Shay Day. However, it’s a really cute bundle so if you don’t already have similar shades it’s definitely worth checking out.
