Since I was unable to get my hands on any of the new ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip products, I’ve turned to another release I’m super excited about. The new shades joining the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick line next month. I’ve got my list and I’m ready to go! While I anxiously await the new shades I figured it was time to pull out some of the older shades and show them some love.

My love/addiction for liquid matte lipsticks started with Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks. Last year I purchased 3 shades. I thought I posted one of them, but it must have been one of those posts I lost shortly after taking my website down. Anyway, it all started when I saw the amazing Jeffree Star rocking Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Jeffree. I knew I needed that lipstick in my life. I remember messaging my friend on Facebook telling her how we needed to order it ASAP. And we did. I also ordered Berlin and L.U.V. Those will be posted soon.

Jeffree is described as a hot pink, long-wear, full-coverage liquid lipstick with a smooth, matte finish. It applied nice and evenly and lasted the whole day! That’s what I love about these lipsticks. I can eat, drink, and not have to worry about my lipstick fading. Jeffree was a little more drying, but it wasn’t so bad. I always prep my lips well beforehand (lip scrub and lip balm) and that really helps with the even application and overall comfort throughout the day. You can see Jeffree in action below.

Are you looking forward to the new Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks? What’s on your list? My list (at the moment) is Bow ‘n’ Arrow, Requiem, Susperia, Exorcism, and Mother.

This is not a new to me palette. I really like posting things as soon as I get them, but that wasn’t an option for me at the time of this purchase. During one of the moves last year I picked this beauty up during a coffee run. I mean who can go to the Starbucks at the mall without going into Sephora? Who?! That’s right. No one! So when I was supposed to be unpacking and settling in I was sipping on my soy latte and buying more stuff to set on top of the mounds of boxes back home. Because priorities.

I think I have most of the Kat Von D palettes now. The Monarch Eyeshadow Palette and the Esperanza Eyeshadow Palette are easily my favorites. Although I definitely get more use out of the Monarch Palette. I love the nice warm shades. The shadows are so nicely pigmented too. You can see from the swatches that a few are a little on the powdery side, but they still applied nicely with very little fallout. Below you can see one of my go-to looks with this palette. One of these days I’ll get around to recreating Kat Von D’s beautiful look.

I applied Vanish on my lid, Killing Jar in my inner crease, Wrath in my mid-outer crease, Tiny Death on my brow bone, Telepathy on the inner corner of my eye, and Disintegration on my lower lash line. I really had a lot of fun with this palette.

So I decided to jump on the contour palette bandwagon. I actually had a few contour palettes I was hoping to review, but they just didn’t work out for me. However, the Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette works perfectly with my skin tone and is just all around amazing. This beauty didn’t leave me looking like I have a really bad tan. Even though I do have a really bad tan. Seriously, WHY did parts of my chest tan leaving the rest of me light and uneven?

This palette contains 3 highlighting shades and 3 contouring shades. They all feel silky smooth and blend beautifully. I’ve seen some pretty amazing things being done with this palette. Have you seen Tara’s first impression and demo? She definitely took full advantage of this palette using the majority of the shades! While I haven’t gone that far (yet) I do use it daily. It’s convenient and so easy to work with. It even comes with a handy step by step insert to help you out.

You can see this palette in action below.
