I’m pretty late on getting this post up. I have so many posts drafted and this one somehow got lost in the mix.

Do y’all remember my last RiRi Hearts MAC post? I was crazy enough to go through the whole ‘waiting room’ experience and swore to never do it again. Believe it or not I stood my ground. Sometimes living in the middle of nowhere truly is a blessing in disguise. The MAC counter at my local(ish) Macy’s doesn’t usually get too crazy during new releases. RiRi was an exception of course. No worries. I was second in line. I got up super early, drove to the mall with my father, fueled up on a venti soy latte, and started my stalky business outside of Macy’s. As soon as the doors opened I ran to the MAC counter and while trying to catch my breath acted as if I just happened to be in the area. ‘Oh TODAY is the RiRi launch? Oh! I’ll take one of each lipstick I guess…’ I then stood back as the crowd of people flooded the counter. Not everyone left so happy. And if I hadn’t checked my bag before leaving I would have been one of those unhappy people as Talk That Talk wasn’t in my bag. Always check your bags before taking off! Especially during a big launch like this.

After reading reviews it seems quite a bit of people weren’t happy with the lipsticks. I personally found that a little prepping went a long way. I used a lip scrub beforehand and then applied a very thin layer of lip balm to my lips. Then I pat the lipsticks on gently and built up as needed. No issues at all! Talk That Talk did get a bit patchy after eating and drinking, but a little touch up fixed that. They’re gorgeous lipsticks and totally worth the little effort needed to perfect the look. I know that not everyone feels the same, but hey, everyone is different.

Swatches (Left to Right): Nighttrain, Colourful Life, Freshwater, Sex & Disco, Sketchbook, Fashion Legend

I was so excited about the MAC Antonio Lopez Collection mainly because of this palette. The packaging is so stylish and well, cool! I’m such a sucker for pretty packaging. *lowers head in shame* The teal palette was an easy choice because I’m all about teals/blues/greens. Who am I kidding? I’m all about ANY and ALL colors! But I’ve never been known to pass on teal anything. So there you have it.

Nighttrain is a charcoal gray with crystalline frost, Colourful Life is a dark teal, Freshwater is a midtone sparkling blue with blue pearl, Sex & Disco is a sparkling cool silver, Sketchbook is a glittery blackened olive, and Fashion Legend is a black with pink pearl. Colourful Life would have to be my favorite of the 6. It’s such a beautiful teal shade! All of these shadows flowed nicely together making it easy for me to create a nice look. Which you can see below.

I used Colourful Life on my lid, Sketchbook in my crease, Sex & Disco on the outter corner of my crease, Freshwater on the inner part of my lower lash line, Fashion Legend on the rest of my lash line, and Nighttrain on the inner corner of my eye and as my highlighter. It lasted all day with very little to no creasing or fading. I did experience a little bit of fallout, but it wasn’t so bad. And the glittery bits sitting just above the wing part of my liner is a glittery gold liner from elf. *shrug* I was trying something out. If it didn’t apply so patchy I think it would have turned out pretty amazing.
