RiRi Hearts MAC Lipstick in Heaux

I was lucky enough to score 2 items from the RiRi Hearts MAC Collection. Actually, I wasn’t so much lucky as I was crazy for stalking the MAC website and waiting in a virtual waiting room of sorts for a good long HOUR! Even the checkout process was a nightmare. It took about 10 whole minutes just to load the checkout screen, then another 10 minutes to load the login screen, and after I thought I had logged in… ‘ursername or password is incorrect.’ NICE! Another 10 minutes to login correctly. And yet another 10 minutes for the payment to go through. Like I said… crazy! But I did get lucky because from what I hear lots of people received back order notifications. I placed 2 orders and my 2nd one got back ordered. Who knows when/if it’ll even go through. I’m just glad that my waiting paid off and I was at least able to walk away from that mess with SOMETHING!

The Hibiscus Kiss Powder Blush Duo is super pretty! I had to really build it up to get the colors to show on my hand, but the end result made it all worthwhile. Heaux is absolutely gorgeous! I was so worried about it being a bit much on my fair skin (I tend to shy away from deep berries/reds although I DO have my favorites), but the moment I applied this gorgeous lipstick I fell in love! It was a little stiff and tugged at my lips as I applied it and it even felt a little dry afterward. But once that bad boy was on it stayed put and surprisingly didn’t feel uncomfortable at all. I think I may have found a new favorite!

Swatches (WET): MAC Veluxe Pearlfusion Shadow in Pinkluxe

From the MAC website: Eye Shadow innovation like you’ve never seen before. The pure power of pigment in a creamy, lightweight hybrid, offering distinctive effects – applied wet for a super saturation of colour with metallic brilliance, or dry for sheer coverage with a soft, sparkling finish. Six palettes feature five complementary shades that glide on and blend beautifully for infinite day-to-night looks with matte to pearlescent finish.

When I first heard about MAC’s Veluxe Pearlfusion Shadows I just knew I had to have one. There aren’t many swatches out there just yet so I had to just pick a color and hope for the best. In fact I finally saw swatches for Pinkluxe the day after I had already placed my order and I was already having regrets. But the moment I swatched this palette for myself I just knew I made the right choice. This goes to show that you can’t always make your decisions based on someone else’s swatches. Good thing I went with my gut on this one.

I decided to first try this palette out wet because I was aiming for a bold look. I only used the bottom 3 shadows. The top 2 shadows were too frosty for my liking so I used a different brand for my highlighter. I pressed the 4th shade onto my lid (wet). Then I used the 5th shade in my crease and blended a little of the 3rd shade on top of that. I used a bit of the 1st shade on the inner corner of my eye. For my lower lash line I used the 3rd shade (wet).

To say that I love this palette would be a huge understatement. I so LOVE me some pinks and purples! The shadows that I used blended nicely. The texture was perfect. I did experience a crazy amount of fallout though. So much sparkle I felt like Edward Cullen. But I always do my eye makeup first so that I can clean up afterward. Is that weird? Almost everyone I know of does their eye makeup last. Anyway, beside the massive amounts of sparkles all over my face this palette is just amazingly gorgeous and I love it! And 9 hours later there is hardly no fading or creasing. I should also mention that when hubby first saw me today he said ‘WOW! Your eyes!’ He usually always compliments my makeup, but I don’t always get the ‘WOW!’ Pink and purple sparkles, yo!

Swatches (Left to Right): Caliente, Underdressed, Hot Nights, Ripe for Love

I was pretty excited about the MAC Temperature Rising Collection. Everything looked so sparkly and pretty! I know I said I don’t care for shimmer/sparkle, but something about these sparkly beauties really stood out. The bronze packaging is also really pretty and screams SUMMER! Below you can see some swatches of me wearing Ripe for Love blush and Caliente lipstick. I absolutely LOVE both! I don’t own many peach blushes so this was a must have for my collection. Both blushes really packed on some color so I had to use a rather light hand when applying them. They lasted pretty much all day, but started to get patchy around 8 or so hours. Caliente lipstick is absolutely adorable! The sparkle can be a bit much, but I do appreciate it. It did fade after about 2-3 hours so I had to reapply quite often throughout the day. I also really liked the texture. You can see it in action in the photo below.

I didn’t get any of the other lipsticks or lipglasses because I already own similar shades. I do however regret not getting the Bare My Soul Quad. Which is now sold out. Doh!
