I have been waiting on these beauties for a VERY long time! Ever since the first swatches started making their rounds I’ve been at the edge of my seat waiting for the day I could make them mine. When the day finally came I was just about to dig into my lunch (Amy’s Baked Ziti Bowl) when I heard the FedEx truck pull up. I jumped out of my chair, got my package, thanked the kind FedEx lady, and cradled my package like a great big makeup hoarding freak. As my delicious ziti grew cold I ripped open my package and laid its contents out on the table and admired them. Only then was I able to enjoy my lunch.
The shadows have a velvety smooth texture and blended easily. The pigmentation is just amazing. One swipe alone provided me with a nicely pigmented swatch. However, the photos above are two swipes! Seriously, I can’t stop gushing over these beautiful shadows. They are just so gorgeous!
The only lipstick I wanted was Wholesome and it’s a good thing too because that’s all that was in stock at the time. It’s a really nice nude. It has a nice creamy texture and lasted quite a while. It did settle in the few cracks in my lips which was sort of noticeable, but it wasn’t drying. I think it’ll look so much nicer when my lips aren’t as chapped. Obviously I’ve been slacking on the lip scrub.
Anyway, in the photos below you can see a look a created using Crimson Tryst on the inner and outer part of my lid as well as in my crease and Brazenly on my lower lash line. I’m also wearing Wholesome lipstick and Stylish Me blush which I absolutely LOVE! This too had such a velvety smooth texture. It gave my cheeks such a nice glow.
I was lucky enough to score 2 items from the RiRi Hearts MAC Collection. Actually, I wasn’t so much lucky as I was crazy for stalking the MAC website and waiting in a virtual waiting room of sorts for a good long HOUR! Even the checkout process was a nightmare. It took about 10 whole minutes just to load the checkout screen, then another 10 minutes to load the login screen, and after I thought I had logged in… ‘ursername or password is incorrect.’ NICE! Another 10 minutes to login correctly. And yet another 10 minutes for the payment to go through. Like I said… crazy! But I did get lucky because from what I hear lots of people received back order notifications. I placed 2 orders and my 2nd one got back ordered. Who knows when/if it’ll even go through. I’m just glad that my waiting paid off and I was at least able to walk away from that mess with SOMETHING!
The Hibiscus Kiss Powder Blush Duo is super pretty! I had to really build it up to get the colors to show on my hand, but the end result made it all worthwhile. Heaux is absolutely gorgeous! I was so worried about it being a bit much on my fair skin (I tend to shy away from deep berries/reds although I DO have my favorites), but the moment I applied this gorgeous lipstick I fell in love! It was a little stiff and tugged at my lips as I applied it and it even felt a little dry afterward. But once that bad boy was on it stayed put and surprisingly didn’t feel uncomfortable at all. I think I may have found a new favorite!
