Sky Organics

I love a good DIY beauty project. So when Sky Organics sent me a DIY hair mask kit I was excited to give it a try. I was sent the Lavender Coconut Oil Hair Mask with Argan Oil kit. It comes with a 16.9 oz Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, 4 oz 100% Pure Organic Argan Oil, and a 1 oz 100% Pure Organic Lavender Essential Oil. The kit also includes a very easy to follow recipe card.

The mask is ideal for dry, damaged, or color treated hair. The Coconut Oil is said to help with detangling, taming frizz, and protection from the sun while adding shine. Lavender Oil is known to help with stress and anxiety. When combined your hair is being treated with the Coconut Oil while the Lavender Oil helps you to relax. And that it does! The recipe calls for 2-4 tbsp of the Coconut Oil combined with 5 drops of the Lavender Oil. I only added 2 drops of the Lavender Oil, but it was just as relaxing. The directions say to apply from the middle of the shaft to the tips and comb through. Then wrap with a towel and let sit for 1/2 hour to 2 hours. I let it sit for an hour. Just enough time to watch an episode of one of your favorite shows. While sipping on some hot tea. Or wine. No one is judging! Then you wash your hair with your favorite shampoo and you’re left with soft, silky smooth hair! Afterward I applied a little of the Argan Oil onto my dampened hair. I didn’t find it to be heavy or greasy.

You can also use these products individually. Here are a few suggestions along with some of my own personal favorite uses for each of these products.

This was a really nice and convenient DIY. While you can easily find Coconut Oil anywhere, maybe even right in your kitchen (and probably a lot cheaper!), I do like the addition of the Lavender Oil. It’s therapeutic grade and doesn’t contain any chemicals or additives. I’m told that in order for an essential oil to be effective it has to be therapeutic grade. And a little really does go a long way. It’ll take me MONTHS to get through this bottle! I really do find the scent to be relaxing. I only add about 2 drops to my diffuser because anything more than that is a bit much for me. The Argan Oil is also a really nice sized bottle and it’ll probably last me the whole year. I’m also really digging their packaging. The products were really fun to photograph.

*I received these products complimentary. I was not paid or compensated in any way to write this review. All opinions are completely my own.
