Swatches

First up from the new Wet n Wild Queen of My Heart Collection is the Will You Marina Me Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio. I get total mermaid vibes from this trio. The blueish shade looks SO much prettier in person! You really have to see it for yourself.

The shadows are all nicely pigmented. Even the brow bone shade which I feel would also make for a nice highlighter. Just look at it! Anyway, they all applied and blended beautifully! To really get that lid shade to pop, I wet my brush a little before application. It really doesn’t need it, but I feel that it really comes to life when you wet the brush a little beforehand. Give it a try!

I honestly don’t have a single bad thing to say about this trio. I highly suggest picking this beauty up. If blues are your thing! If not you could always apply that beautiful brown shade on your lid and apply the blue on your lower lash line. It would make for a more natural look with just a pop of color.

You can see a look I created with the Will You Marina Me Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio below. For this look I applied it exactly how the trio suggests.

I’m so happy to see even more great things coming from Wet n Wild. Every time I turn around they’re introducing some new and exciting collection. I just really hope they keep them coming!

The newest collection is the Queen of My Heart Collection for Spring 2017. Here’s a list of what’s included in this collection:

Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio $2.99

  • Heart and Heavy
  • Hieroglyphic Heart
  • Will You Marina Me

MegaGlo Highlighting Powder $4.99

  • Lilac To Reality
  • The Sweetest Bling

Perfect Pout Lip Palette $5.99

  • From Heart To Finish

MegaGlo Cheek & Lip Tint $4.99

  • Crush Upon a Time
  • Flirt on the Street
  • Kiss Me If You Can

There’s also a kabuki brush for $3.99. I’ve read that the entire collection should be available online sometime in March. I’ve only seen this display at one of my local(ish) CVS stores. I’ve been searching every other CVS and Walgreens and haven’t seen displays yet. Although it seems some people are having luck finding displays near them. So keep checking!

I ended up getting just 2 of the 3 eyeshadow trios and both of the highlighters. The other items didn’t really appeal to me. I’ll be reviewing them separately. So be on the lookout for that!

What I can tell you from swatching is that the shadows are mostly soft and nicely pigmented. I’m actually very impressed with how they swatched. I really hope they apply just as beautifully. The highlighters are also pretty soft and very pigmented. I can only imagine the kind of glow these babies are going to provide. I know a lot of people are probably going to go crazy looking for the highlighters, but don’t overlook the eyeshadow trios! Once in a while Wet n Wild provides some REALLY nice trios/palettes and this really seems to be one of those times.

Have you spotted the display in stores yet? Does anything catch your eye?

Swatches: Highlight, Contour

I still have quite a few Valentine’s Day products to post, but I have some older items that need to be posted first. Like these Wet n Wild MegaCushion Contour and Highlight products that I purchased back when they first hit the shelves. I still see displays in some stores, but the contour and highlight products sell out pretty fast. So I’d definitely pick one up if you spot it. Otherwise it might not be there the next time.

I think the packaging is really cute! Be careful opening up the containers though because it might get a little messy. I’d definitely lay it over a towel or something. Otherwise it might drip onto your vanity or wherever you do your makeup. The highlight wasn’t so bad, but the contour was a little more liquidy.

I only swiped once in my swatches. I used my fingers rather than the included sponge. The sponge just seems like it would make for an awkward application. They’re nicely pigmented in the swatches, but they’re much more subtle on the face. I used a contour brush to apply the contour and my fingers to apply the highlight. I didn’t go too crazy building up because I really liked the more subtle look. They applied and blended beautifully.

I love both of these products! I was a little skeptical at first, but they turned out to be pretty great. I really like the smooth application and the nice subtle look. These will definitely get some use and you’ll probably see them in some upcoming posts. You can see both products in action below.

Have you spotted these anywhere? Have you tried them for yourself?
