Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Remix Eyeshadow Palette

Purchased By Me
When I first caught wind of this palette a few months back, I just knew that I had to make it mine. I don’t know what it is about Kat Von D’s products that makes me want/need them all. Actually I do. The quality is amazing and her artwork is even more amazing. I remember going shopping with my butthead brother-in-law’s girlfriend earlier on this year. She asked me to recommend something from the Kat Von D line while in Sephora and so I suggested one of the palettes. When she went to go open it up she just threw away the box. I stood there for a good long minute just staring into the trash wondering what kind of person does these things. That was a work of art, man!
Well, the Mi Vida Loca Remix palette is an even prettier work of art. And the shadows! Once you slide the palette out it’s like you’re staring at a rainbow. It’s gorgeous! There are 24 eyeshadows total. I really like how it’s set up with the neutral shades in the center and the colorful shades surrounding it. You can easily create a nice neutral look or go all out with a bold colorful look. I’ve actually done both just for this post! You can check them out below.
It looks like the shadow is creased in the photos, but I assure you it isn’t. I just didn’t look down like I usually do. Oh and I got really confused with this palette while swatching and missed a shadow. That shadow is Vinyl. I’m sure you must have seen it swatched about a dozen times by now so I don’t feel too bad about it. I think I just got confused because the shadow before it was also green. Oops? And please pardon the fallout all over my Fitbit. The Fitbit attracts a lot of that kind of stuff and I didn’t even notice until after I already took the photos.
Did you get the Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Remix Eyeshadow Palette? Are you a fellow Kat Von D fangirl? Well, y’all already know I am hahaha!
Note: I really tried to get this post up before the palette sold out, unfortunately that didn’t happen. I’m not sure if Sephora is planning to restock or not, but according to Dupethat the Morphe 35b Palette contains a lot of similar shades and is sold at a fraction of the cost. Just figured I’d throw that out there.
I’ve only recently tried Kat Von D ink liners and I finally understood all the hype, I plan to pink up the tattoo liners next. Not sure about the eyeshadows though, I know they are amazing but they are usually colours and I am a true neutral girl. Do you know if she has a neutral palette?

Oh I am all about colors! :) She actually does have the Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette. I didn’t pick that one up though because I already have a ton of neutral palettes. I hear it’s nice though.
I love Kat Von D beauty products but this palette somehow didn’t make me wanna go out and buy it immediately. I don’t think I would wear all these greens and blues.
But the two looks you created are gorgeous, especially the purple one!

Thank you, Agata! :)
Color is definitely for you .. I really love your looks especially the pink/violet eye shadow.

Awww thanks so much, Monica! :)
I’ve never tried anything by Kat Von D… don’t get mad at me! :p I like the aesthetics of her brand but it’s not really my style, if you see what I mean? So I tend to go towards other brands first – example here would be that I’m considering getting the Smashbox Master Class palette rather than this one, although they both contain very colorful shadows. I really do love the artwork though.
I really like your colorful look here. Will you post pictures of looks you do with the greens and blues?

Awww why would I get mad? We’re not all going to like the same things. I’ve just always been a fan of hers ever since her TV shows. I think she’s a pretty amazing person too so it’s more than just the stuff she promotes/creates.
I don’t think I’ve heard of that Smashbox palette, but I’ll definitely check it out. I’m kind of out of the loop with anything makeup related right now. It seems there’s just so much more to keep up with this year. Yikes!
I’ll definitely post more looks. I’m not sure how to work in those yellows and lime green, but I’m up for a challenge lol. But yeah I’m actually planning to add a FOTD type of tag to create more looks with the many palettes I’ve purchased over the years. But my face is healing right now due to an over-exfoliating mishap. My skin is not happy right now. Otherwise I’d get to it sooner rather than later. I’m just gonna give my skin a nice long break. Check back in a few weeks though! :)
Oh no, I hop your skin gets better soon! :(
If you need something to soothe your skin Avene Cicalfate could help it heal. It’s a cream that’s recommended for irritated skin, and it works well post dermatological procedures.

Thank you so much! I’ll definitely check that out! I purchased the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream thinking that would help, but that was a no-go. Most of the redness and itching have subsided so right now I’m just trying to stay moisturized.
I love the looks you’ve created here! Your posts always make me laugh – “that was a work of art, man!” Some people just don’t get it, do they?? I’d be like you, hoarding the beautiful packaging. Kat Von D’s products really do look special x

It really is! :)
Wow, these are some intensely pigmented shadows! I am not into palettes, but I like the artwork on all her products.

Aren’t they? I remember you saying that about palettes. I love my palettes! Sometimes I can’t help myself.
Hah! Whenever I see anything Kat Von D, I still continue to think of you. I saw this a bit ago and wondered if you’d pick it up! You made some excellent looks with this palette, it’s clearly in good hands. ;)
Ugh @ throwing away the box. That’s why I never throw away a theBalm box…! So sad. ='( I guess some people just aren’t that into it? It seems to me that most people who really like makeup seem to be artistic, or as least have an eye for art and colour.
Awww thank you, Zovesta! <3
I think you're right! theBalm is another packaging I'm in love with. It's just too pretty!
I’m loving the color wheel layout! Kat Von D’s range is not available here in Italy and I’ve never tried anything. Last time I was in the States I almost got one of her liquid lipsticks, but I had already spent so much money on makeup that I decided against it. Next time!

Isn’t it neat? That’s too bad that KVD isn’t available in Italy. Next time indeed! I always spend way too much while traveling too. Oops!
Ohh this palette is so, so beautiful, so many gorgeous, bright colors! Love the looks that you’ve created here!

Thank you, Paula! :) I love it! Easily a new fave for me.
I haven’t really ever used KVD eye shadows (since they’ve been reformulated). I need to give them another go, I just have to pick which one I want. I’ll have to check this out next time im in Sephora! Thanks for a great review, it has my wheels turning. :)

That’s great! My local Sephora doesn’t always get the new stuff otherwise I would have gone that route too. Thank you, Amanda! :)
