Purchased By Me
When I first heard about ColourPop last Summer I knew that I had to place an order. And I did. It was quite a nice haul, but due to some personal issues those beauties never made it to the blog. No worries. I plan on adding them now that things are running more smoothly. Anyway, it was love at first sight. I received my package fairly quickly. Opening the box was definitely an experience. I especially loved the personalized thank you note. Those are always a nice touch! To say that I was in love with my purchase would be an understatement. Seriously, of ALL the shadows in my collection my ColourPop shadows are the ones I reach for the most. They’re so creamy… buttery! I swear I almost always apply one of them to my lower lash line at least! It really adds a nice pop of color! See what I did there?
When I heard of their Spring 2015 Collection I quickly made my list. I really really REALLY wanted everything, but I had to pace myself. So I got the things I felt I couldn’t live without.
Tootsi Lip Pencil and Tootsi Lippie Stix are described as a cool-toned grey beige in a matte finish. Both applied perfectly and felt very comfortable. I’ll definitely be picking up backups of these.
Rain is described as a mid-tone lavender in a matte finish. I don’t own many lavender blushes so this was a must have. I applied this with my fingers and lightly blended it out with my buffer brush. It’s nicely pigmented and applied exactly like it swatched. I used to shy away from cream blushes and am now regretting that. Obviously I’ve been missing out. I totally need more of these in my life!
Beauty Call is described as a true powder blue in a matte finish, Cowboy is a true pastel lavender in a matte finish, Daddy is a cool-toned vibrant violet in a matte pressed pigment, Flux is a light mint green in a matte finish, Hello is a soft pastel yellow in a matte finish, In A Pickle is a pastel coral pink in a matte finish, Snap Dragon is a mid-tone sea foam green in a matte finish, and last, but certainly not least, Taco is a mid-tone aqua in a matte finish.
It’s nice to add a few matte shadows to my growing ColourPop collection. My first purchase was a bit of a glitter-fest. Not that I’m complaining. I just like a bit of variety. My favorite would have to be Snap Dragon. It’s such a beautiful color! But they’re definitely all winners in my book! As for application, I usually use my MAC 252 brush. I don’t really like using my fingers for these shadows even though the website states that is the best way to apply them. I prefer my method and haven’t had any issues yet.
You can see a look I created with some of these products below. I’m wearing Tootsi Lip Pencil and Tootsi Lippie Stix on my lips, Rain on my cheeks, Cowboy on my lid, Daddy in my crease (I added a different shadow in my outer crease to darken it a bit), Hello on the inner corner of my eye, Snap Dragon on my lower lash line, and a different shadow on my brow bone. The other shadows I used are bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow 4.0 in The True Romantic (Head Over Heels, Love It).
This was quite a nice haul. I love everything! And with free shipping over $30.00, $5.00 for all eye shadows and lip products, and just $8.00 for cheek products, how can you pass that up? You can’t! And you shouldn’t!
