So funny story! I was supposed to post my fancy new Becca Champagne Collection Face Palette today, but when I went to make up my face I reached for all It Cosmetics products. I ended up highlighting with my new favorite You Sculpted Contour Palette. So that review will have to wait until next week because there was no way I was wiping away this magic only to start all over again. I guess the heart wants what it wants, eh?

It Cosmetics Goodies

About 2 months ago the wonderful people of It Cosmetics sent me this box full of goodies. I’ve been testing out the products since I received them. I’ve already reviewed the Superhero Mascara. Next up is the Your Skin But Better CC Cream. And let me tell you, the name is fitting!

This is a full coverage color correcting cream with anti-aging serum and SPF 50! It’s a little on the thick side, but not so thick that it doesn’t blend out easily. They say a little goes a long way and they’re so not kidding. The first few times I used it I got a little too carried away with the pump. Now I start off with like a half of a pump on the back of my hand and pump a bit more if needed. I applied this with my BeautyBlender and it applied beautifully! I was able to easily build up in areas where I needed more coverage. I did notice a subtle citrus scent, but it doesn’t linger. The coverage is pretty darn great and right up there with my go-to foundation.

I’m not a fan of BB or CC creams. Most look pretty cakey on my skin or just didn’t sit right. The It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream is the real deal. The hype is real! Usually in the Summer I switch out my foundation with my favorite tinted moisturizer, but I’ll be switching to this CC Cream this Summer. It contains more SPF along with anti-aging serum and it has much better coverage. All while feeling like I’m not even wearing any makeup!

This wonderful CC Cream comes in 5 shades – Fair, Light, Medium, Tan and Rich. In the swatches shown here I am wearing the shade Light. I can post swatches of the other shades if you’d like to see them. Just let me know in the comments. You can see this CC Cream in action below. I’ve even posted a close-up this time.

It Cosmetics You Sculpted Contour Palette Swatches

Swatches: Soft Contour, Light Contour, Matte Highlight, Medium Contour, Deep Contour, Radiance Highlight

I know that contouring isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s something I really got on board with. I’ve always disliked the shape of my face. It’s round and on the chubby side. I like that I can change that with a little contouring. Not the super sculpted contouring, but something more natural and subtle. Something that leaves me feeling a little more confident.

I’ve purchased a few contour palettes within the year. I never did care much for the cream based palettes. I’ve seen some amazing things done with them, but I never could get the hang of them. They required way too much work and it left me feeling TOO made up. Which is great if that’s what you’re going for. The only palette I truly liked was my Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette which I did review on my blog, but I won’t link back to it because the photos make me cringe. Anyway, I used that palette daily. Until I received the It Cosmetics You Sculpted Contour Palette.

The It Cosmetics You Sculpted Contour Palette contains 4 contouring shades in soft, light, medium and deep along with 2 highlighting shades in matte and radiance. I absolutely love radiance! It has a slight shimmer and makes for the perfect highlight! It is seriously beautiful! All of these shades are silky smooth. They can be a little powdery, but it’s not so bad. They applied and blended beautifully. The shades are infused with anti-aging collagen, silk and peptides and are talc-free. The palette also contains a how-to guide in the back which is full of tips and tricks. It’s very informative and is complete with photos so you know what goes where. It is seriously the easiest contour palette I’ve worked with. And I haven’t been able to put it down since it landed on my doorstep.

What I like most about this palette is how easy it is to achieve a nice natural looking contour. The soft and light shades are perfect for just that. Of course you can always mix and match to get a shade that’s just right for you. I personally like the light contour shade along with the radiance highlighter. You can see them in action below.

I used the radiance highlighter on my cheek bone, cupid’s bow, nose, and on the inner corner of my eye. I used the light contour shade to contour. I also contoured my nose a bit which is something I don’t usually do. I just wanted to experiment a bit more.

At the moment this palette is sitting on my stand along with all of my other essentials. And there it shall stay. Maybe I’ll do a post sharing all of the items I have there at the moment.

If you use a contour palette, which one is your favorite?

It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara

Believe it or not I only have a handful of mascaras that I wear. I’ve gotten many samples and purchased a ton of full sized tubes only to toss them aside and rotate the same few over and over again. Either they just didn’t work for me or they damn near injured me. But I guess that’s to be expected when you’re working with something that closely resembles a flail.

That being said, you can imagine my excitement when I find a new mascara that I love. You’d think it would be an easy task since I’m such a simple girl. A little length, a little volume, and a comfortable wand with a brush that won’t take out an eyeball. So yeah, it’s exciting to be able to add a new mascara into my rotation. And the It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara is one fine addition!

Here’s the description from the It Cosmetics website: ‘Imagine lashes so long and full, they appear to have stretched wider and longer before your eyes! Now, you can infuse your lashes with superhero powers in just one coat using Superhero™ mascara. Proprietary Elastic Stretch Technology wraps each individual lash in a volume-boosting, lengthening and ultra-conditioning black cape of power and color that’s clinically shown to give you your strongest, longest, thickest and most defined lashes!

Formulated with powerful peptides and proteins, strengthening biotin, lash-lifting polymers and plumping collagen, this anti-aging mascara will take your lashes to new heights. The innovative formula and Lash-Changing Power Brush work together to coat every lash from base to tips, lifting and separating to create a fuller lash line—no lash is left behind! This super-black mascara is also super-buildable, so lash power is at your fingertips; simply apply more coats to add volume and length.’

Sounds pretty good, eh? Here are my thoughts. Application was easy with the comfortable wand. The brush was just the right size where I could easily apply the mascara ensuring that I did in fact coat the lashes evenly (without injury). I feel that it provided me with the perfect amount of length and volume with the 2 coats I applied. You can see it in action below.

My only issue was that there was a slightly longer bristle at the tip of the brush that stuck out. You can see it in the close-up above. I trimmed it and all was good.

And while we’re on the superhero subject, is anyone going to see Batman v Superman this week? I’ve been waiting a very long time for this. I love me some Superman!
